It's not like they haven't played before loud, hostile crowds. My greatest fear is that we will be too hyped and lose focus.biggie wrote:Seems exaggerated to me. I'd like to think our little stadium is loud, but surely they can't be scared of our noise levels compared to even some other ACC opponents (VT comes to mind).

Yes, being too excited for the team would be bad, nervous type mistakes is what we can't have. Maybe some of their freshman will be nervous, but can't think of why they would be for maybe 35k people.

Just a warning, my dad is juiced for the game and will be sitting near you guys. I apologize in advance. We can switch him and my brother if need be.

An enhancement that we need to install now would be some of those walls you see beside highways that help block road noise from nearby neighborhoods. Let's install some at the open areas to keep in the noise. I won't mention the section I was in last week but it might be a challenge for many of those folks to stand at all.

To be honest, this needs to be on everyone not just the students. The students do a great job of starting alot of it, but the alumni needs to help as well.Dru090 wrote:The U knows the deal. Looks like they struggle with the 12th man. Sorry to say it, but the students are going to have to pick it up. They are no where as loud as our dynasty days. Link below.......

If you think people will not leave at the half you are dreaming. Hell last week people were leaving before the end of the first quarter.

If we are close at half- or even, heaven forbid, only down about 10 and people leave, we need to stop all talk immediately about stadium seating enlargement or all other such stuff. I personally don't put much stock into Miami's first two games. Blew out a bad FCS team and beat another struggling team.bcoach wrote:If you think people will not leave at the half you are dreaming. I do think we will have a few leaving at half, regardless of the score. With this being on ESPN and the attendance we are expecting, hopefully the early leavers will at least not be too apparent from the TV perspective.bcoach wrote:If you think people will not leave at the half you are dreaming. People leaving at halftime has no bearing on expansion plans. If they buy a ticket and come at all, then that is considered "demand", regardless of when they leave.

Re: Let's Make Some Noise!
Excuse my ignorance - why would people leave at half time - regardless of score? I don't see a blowout occurring either way? Other than tailgating, is there really something that more important to do?

We've always had a portion of our crowd leave early. Usually starts at halftime. Maybe it's happy hour...... Hopefully with a big name opponent, close game and beautiful weather they stay til the end...U of my Emme wrote:Excuse my ignorance - why would people leave at half time - regardless of score? Thanks, guess it happens anywhere, depending of what other options are available - we experience many "fair weather fans" or others that just tailgate. Like it or not, Boone has me and my family all weekend - we roll in tomorrow an look forward to contributing to the local community - may only be the bar scene - but I'm okay with that.

Do we have to talk about the people that leave early in every thread?
Some of you are so consistently negative I wonder if you're just miserable, unhappy people in your everyday lives.

That's a very complimentary article. It is a reminder that this is a great opportunity to showcase the Rock in front of the nation. Win or lose, this is a wonderful PR opportunity that we have earned. We need to make the most of it. Who knows, there may be another Coakley, Edwards, Lynch or Cox out there watching and thinking "Man, it would be awesome to play THERE!"

I totally agree, but it's just a shame to see the youth not as engaged as they were in the past. What does that say to the future of our program?
