My whole family was there for that game. My boys were 7 & 9 at the time.

And, THAT's why we NEVER, EVER leave ball games early (except for once when the rain was blowing straight in to our faces).

Thanks for posting.

Was sitting on the East Side around the 20 yard line and got to see the action in that endzone up close and personal since my wife would not let me leave until after the play. I have never seen Kidd Brewer go from flat to ELECTRIC that quickly in the history of the program.

Taylor Lamb was a six year old on the Furman sideline for that game. I think I read somewhere TL said it was that play that made him want to come to Boone. Great recruiting ploy to use on a 6 year old QB.

The story I heard about Taylor was that on Sunday, after that game, he kept running in to Dad (Bobby Lamb) at home exclaiming "LOOK DADDY! ESPN IS RUNNING THE PLAY AGAIN!" Daddy didn't like that so much.

Priceless!

I was on the State side and by that point in the game we had moved to perfect seats on 50. I had never and have not since experienced an emotional low to high like that. I remember our group if big spenders stopping at Hardees in Granite Falls on the way home for the then relatively new $6 burger combo(s). It's strange what you remember.

That play is one of the all time great moments in my football memory. Unfortunately, that game is probably the reason my wife STILL refuses to watch football with me on a regular basis. I was SO angry when Furman scored that I was in full blown rant mode...including throwing my hat across the room and some pretty colorful language. Then the Miracle happened and I was jumping around celebrating. I think she just decided I was insane and took football WAY too seriously. She might be right, but I am what I am. :-)
