Congrats to Coach Satterfield.
This is an extremely important time for ASU Football. Scott has always been a winner so here's to him continuing those winning ways and leading us to bigger and better things.

I am one happy Mountaineer today! Oh, I was a happy Mountaineer yesterday, too ... there's just something about being in the Mountaineer family ... but I digress.
From what I've seen of Coach Satterfield, he seems to be a standup kind of guy with high ideals and plenty of backbone. Of course, that's all from the outside looking in. Here's to a long and happy Satterfield tenure on the mountain!

Re: Satterfield officially OFFICIAL
I have intentionally NOT commented on the coaching transition because I have a tremendous respect for all parties involved (Coach Moore, Charlite Cobb and Ken Peacock). It's truly unfortunate that Coach Moore's tenure should end with ANY type of cloud, regardless of the cause. Unfortunately these things do happen, even when everyone involved is a "good guy."
All the above being said, I have believed for a long time that Scott Satterfield has all the qualities that will make him a tremendous success as a head coach at Appalachian. He has the football knowledge, energy, and creative spark that are going to serve him well. I'm really excited for this move and I'm relieved to finally see the question marks removed. I'm sure there were some outstanding other candidates, but I just can't think we would have done better. Scott has a tremendous love for Appalachian State and for the program.
Congratulations to Scott Satterfield and family!!! I'm truly excited about the future!

With any luck, he'll grind that axe down to a nub soon and there won't be anything left to grind.

While the story is an AP wire story, the Satterfield announcement did make the list of top stories on ESPN's college football homepage.

That was a surprise, as Coach Moore's termination (call it what ever you want) did not.
Good for him....good for us. Let's move on to new challenges.
