The curve concerns me. Is that a curve around the arc of a track?

No. The track was gone on the rendering I saw. The seats in the back of the end zone were as close as you could get them.AppinVA wrote:The curve concerns me. Is that a curve around the arc of a track?

I'm good with a curve at the top so long as it's straight at the bottom. It'll keep it from looking like Boston College with those awkward pie shaped pieces to fill in the corners.

Wouldn't bet the farm on this until there's some serious movement and approval out of the legislature. Concept is fascinating, but it will evolve... if it gets off the ground at all in the next 5 years.

Re: North End Zone Project
I don't think we need approval from the legislature. It is a Public-Private Partnership, which allows us to control our own destiny. This was all by design, since we can't get the appropriate money we deserve from Raleigh. This is how it was explained to me. I heard Owens is coming down in 2017.WXAPP wrote:Wouldn't bet the farm on this until there's some serious movement and approval out of the legislature. I believe this was the purpose of designating the West Side of campus and the Broyhill area a "Millennial Campus" which changes the laws that govern funding for projects to allows for private companies to get involved with development.yosef13 wrote:I don't think we need approval from the legislature. That is very inconvenient. What if someone is ejected for targeting? Would they at least get to ride a golf cart down the hill to Rivers Street? What would teams do at halftime?bigCasu wrote:Probably down at Varsity/\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Where would the away teams change if Owens comes down?yosef13 wrote:I don't think we need approval from the legislature. I would have to assume that this will include a new locker room for the visiting team./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:That is very inconvenient. What if someone is ejected for targeting? This looks awesome! The only reservation I have is wanting to make sure the view of Howard's Knob isn't affected. Can't wait to see the Master plan get rolled out.

Progress usually is inconvenient. Remember the season we had a temporary press box? I'm sure that we will accommodate the best we can during this period. It will all work out./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:That is very inconvenient. What if someone is ejected for targeting? Would they at least get to ride a golf cart down the hill to Rivers Street? That's my understanding as well. We're so lucky to have leaders that have the wherewithal and vision to make this happen, instead of waiting around for a hand out from Raleigh.JTApps1 wrote:I believe this was the purpose of designating the West Side of campus and the Broyhill area a "Millennial Campus" which changes the laws that govern funding for projects to allows for private companies to get involved with development.yosef13 wrote:I don't think we need approval from the legislature. Re: North End Zone Project
All of this matches what I've heard as well ... millennial campus, public-private partnership (P3). One of the best things about P3's is that private projects, for some reason, seem to be run more efficiently and a bit closer to "on time".yosef13 wrote:That's my understanding as well. Sounds like an opportunity to expand our nursing program to include a Physical Therapy /Sports Medicine Degree and possibly even more.... Dare I say Doctorate?DaphneUrquhart wrote:All of this matches what I've heard as well ... millennial campus, public-private partnership (P3). Can you imagine a state of the art orthopedic clinic (privately run) being in that building?
