At this point we'd be jumping up and down to even get an invite to the NIT.....

I happen to really enjoy the playoffs... I'm certain there... not sure why no one else is...Kgfish wrote:Same goes with the pro-FCS crowd. How you sacrifice 11-12 games for a 4 game tournament is beyond me. If the playoffs are such a big deal why is attendance at playoff games so bad? ASU has been regularly involved in the playoffs for 30 years, so it should come as no surprise we might have a home game the first few weekends following the season. Where is the passion and support our fans are known for? Much in the same way I am perplexed by how more ASU fans show up at Michigan, VA Tech, and Florida than most of those all important conference games.Saint3333 wrote:I'm pro-FBS but I disagree. If you are pro-FBS because of the postseason I don't understand that perspective.
Well if you consider going to ASU games a sacrifice then I am not sure what to say. I guess I have to wonder why you are here to begin with. Attendance is no mystery. The 16k that show up for the playoffs are the real hardcore fans. They are the fans that will be there if we are not winning 8-9 games a year. They are the folks that will still tailgate when it is cold or raining. That is not going to change if we are FBS. When you get past that 16-17k mark it is the folks who are not into it that much but tailgating is fun. You know why some bowls look full? because of camera positions and because locals can buy tickets for 2-4 dollars like VT is trying to dump right now. My point is that attendance drops in the post season at all levels.Kgfish wrote:Same goes with the pro-FCS crowd. How you sacrifice 11-12 games for a 4 game tournament is beyond me. Well if everyone who goes to their home games from both teams show up there will be 33,451. Not a lot more than show up for a lowly game at KBS for a game against Elon. In fact their average season attendance WC 17,415 and CM 16,036 is about the same as our attendance for playoff games. Not sure where that fits in with the better competition theory.WVAPPeer wrote:Wonder how many will make the trip to the Little Caesar's Bowl in Detroit in the middle of the week on the day after Christmas? ---
Not sure what attendance has to do with the level of play on the field.bcoach wrote:Well if everyone who goes to their home games from both teams show up there will be 33,451. If you're looking for a rooting interest in this game, go with CMU. I've never met Midland Chip, but he comes to Boone every year for one of our games, so he's good people in my book.

I am decidedly pro FCS but more importantly pro ASU and enjoy the playoffs as well, especially seeing different teams. We buy season tickets - have since the 80's - and make as many road games as possible. Never missed a home playoff game and only 6 of the 12 road games. Can't understand why it is so hard to make the home games, especially on Thanksgiving. The game is two days after the holiday. Maybe I underestimate how many people travel long distances that weekend. I want to play Wake, ECU, and Marshall on a yearly basis. Obviously there is no guarantee it will happen but the only possible way is to be FBS.vegattk wrote:I happen to really enjoy the playoffs... You can't compile EVERY App fan into one category... Just like some of the boneheads on here that assume that the majority of App fans want to go FBS OR the majority of App fans want to stay FCS...
You must be new here as you clearly don't understand my position on this.Kgfish wrote:Same goes with the pro-FCS crowd. How you sacrifice 11-12 games for a 4 game tournament is beyond me. Hope that weight don't kill your Momma.firemoose wrote:Your Momma's so fat she needs FBS in order to maintain her recruiting weight. If she stays FCS the recruiting will be so thin that she'll lose weight and there won't be a joke anymore, except us when Presbyterian is our homecoming game.
Oh no he did not just go there!!!
