Yes. Spartanburg Herald Journal confirms the news. We get Woody and Western doesn't get Teachey. It's great to be a Mountaineer.

If there really are going to be a bunch of recruits in Boone tomorrow I have a feeling Woody will be there too. Could it possible for an announcement to be made tomorrow?

I'm betting Western's new football consultant recommended ditching the idea of going after Teachey and bring in Dale Jones.

It's both funny and sad that Nate Woody is technially unemployed right now.
Being trasnfer week at ASU and with so much having to be done before school starts on Monday probably has factored into HR moving at a snails pace to get this done. It's trying to act like a major program and still being run like a ma and pop shop in many ways.

Re: Nate Woody (Wofford DC) to App?
I am sorry but this is just plain stupid. At the same time it has become pretty normal for out athletic department. This is something that doesn't happen most anywhere else but just always seems to happen here.
Re: Nate Woody (Wofford DC) to App?
Didn't think that it was so much lack of speed on paperwork as much as a mandated time period that had to be followed on length of job posting.

Communication issues in the App State athletic department!?! That never happens...
You all know how I feel about it. It is scary really. Mom and Pop show indeed.

19 days till signing day, and App can't make a HUGE defensive coordinator hire official because "HR is too busy to finish the paperwork in time?" Unbelievable. Sometimes I feel like we drive a Ferrari that secretly has a Geo Metro engine under the hood.bcoach wrote:Just makes you wonder if it can always be "the other guy".Gonzo wrote:Communication issues in the App State athletic department!?! Everybody go easy now. As a former HR type, I can tell you that there are times that the HR folks have to clean up the messes that athletic staffers created. Been there, done that! Here we have a case of an exuberant head coach offering an assistant coaching position before a vacancy announcement was created and posted by the university. That's a clear violation of university employment policy. In fact. there still has been no job posting for that position. Give 'em time to clean it all up before the federal civil rights/equity/diversity/compliance investigators get to campus to twist a few tails. That's all we need after last year's train wreck.
As for Coach Woody, I'd bet a premium Morgan silver dollar that he'll be introduced to all the visiting recruits this weekend.

Well my response to that is why on earth can everyone else get these things done in a couple days. Now you tell us it still isn't posted? We have now gone from really bad to horrible. Just makes the last fiasco look even worse for the university side of that disaster.asu66 wrote:Everybody go easy now. I am sure this has all been done on purpose by HR and the athletic department to give the worry warts on this board something to do.

I didn't mention this, but it's always possible that the AD asked for and was granted a "waiver" to turn Satterfield loose to go after Woody. That's a non-standard way of operating that would create a lot of gray hair in the HR suite; but if the chancellor clears it, the HR folks have no choice but to finesse a way to make it work (hopefully) without stirring up the feds.
The bottom line is that Woody's coming without any doubt; so it really shouldn't matter to us when it gets announced.

As long as the players and other coaches know he is hired, it makes no difference to me when they anounce it to the general public. Good to see you and your better half Saturday.eggers76 wrote:As has been the case throughout, our first official call comes from Spartanburg
