Re: Ivey news
Am I the only one that is confused as to what an assistant head coach is?
Is this the same position Satt had when Jerry was HC?
Is this above an OC and DC?

Re: Ivey news
I'm guessing an AHC works more closely with the head coach than the others and has some say into running the day-to-day.

Re: Ivey news
I believe Satt was Associate Head Coach and was an OC at two other FBS programs before taking the position.
I don’t think this is the same. Which is why I asked the question where this position ranks compared to OC and DC.
great guy, but his resume doesn’t equate to our next head coach.

At a minimum, it’s a way to get him some more money, particularly because others are getting a raise. I think when Scott moves on, it will be up to DG and company who will be the next HC.

Re: Ivey news
Satt was named AHC BECAUSE he was the obvious heir apparent (or at least should have been). Ivey getting the title might set him up to be considered when the time comes, depending on what the job entails.
I certainly don’t think this means he’s coach-in-waiting, or even the favorite for the job.

Re: Ivey news
Assistant Head Coaches typically take a greater role in planning and coordinating practices, meetings, and things of that nature. That way if the head coach can’t be there, the day-to-day operations of the team remain generally uneffected.
I don’t see this as a HCIW type thing for Ivey, but I do think it’s a well-deserved raise and promotion.
