As I stated on another thread... my brother in law is an Athletic Trainer (former App trainer), he texted and said it looks like he broke it in two different places based on the footage. Devastating for that poor young man. What a career....
It very well could be broken in one or two places, but if it is, he looked like he had the world's best tolerance for pain when he was riding off on the cart.

Which is worse? A dislocated or broken ankle?
That would depend on the type of break and severity of each. I only hope that he gets to play another down for his team this year and that he can show his stuff on Pro Day.

A lot of hyperbole is throw around in sports, but I watched Jalin worry more about securing a football in the end zone than his clearly disjointed angle. Dude is a ball player and a warrior. With toughness like that he’d make a hell of a hockey player!

I'm calling "BS" on all of this wild speculation. Scott's measured reply to Molly Cotton's question was "we're going to get Jalin back home and listen to the doctors after they've done a thorough evaluation. We're all sorry he had to leave the game like that." Nuff said!

Our limbs aren’t supposed to bend that way. Wild speculation maybe.... but the best he can hope for is a severe high ankle sprain. This would usually include shredded tendons and possible fracture. I’ve done it, cringed when I saw it and saw His face as he bit his glove in pain. He is a grown man and an athlete, we tend not to show the pain we may actually be experiencing (ie. See Earl Thomas last Sunday). I will lean towards trusting my brother in laws expert opinion. Get well soon Jalen.

Satt also mentioned Camerun Peoples in postgame, so I have to believe he thinks Jalin is done. Very sad.

Not speculating but if it is serious hopefully it is along the same type injury as Nick Fitzgerald Miss St QB had last year. Jalin may not wear an App St uniform again but will get into pros.
Our prayers are with him for a speedy and full recovery from this injury.

I love that young man , what heart.Thinking late into the night about his best NFL strategy.Could he comeback in 19 as a hardship? Go somewhere as a Grad transfer? Or will he recover in time to impress the scout and be drafted ....In any event I hope, and pray , he realizes his dream.

Moore was the man ever since his first run in '15. I have a feeling he's going to bust his tail off recovering & kick ass at the Combine. At least for Pro Day.

Not sure what replay some of you all saw, but an ankle hanging at a 70 degree angle does not leave much wonder to what happened or if he will be back this year. That was a catastrophic injury, plain and simple. Sucks for Jalen’s year, his prospects, even that it was game 5 and he can’t get another year. All around bad.

If you don’t know for sure don’t speculate!!!!!
Good advice, Rekdiver, but keep in mind a majority of posts on this board since its inception are speculation.

I wish Jalin the quickest of recoveries and the best of luck in his future endeavors. As it's been said, having the mental toughness to drag a defender across the goal line while receiving an injury like this and having the presence of mind to grab the fumble shows the tenacity we've all grown to love.

Is this a case where he can appeal for medical redshirt (1st 1/2 of 5th game?) Pinckney / ECU type deal?

I unfortunately was just watching highlights of the game and they showed it twice, I was sure it was ankle last night, but looks like lowered leg after I saw today. Made me hurt seeing it again.
Hope he fully recovers no matter what it is, really doubt we'll see him here anymore. But hope he has a good chance for NFL.
A couple things though, he made the effort to recover the ball and in the replay from behind he looked like he tried to get up for a second.

I believe Peoples has only played in 1 game correct? Satt may have hedged his bets for theend of year by keeping Peoples powder dry just in case. Evans is not the bruising runner Jalin is so im expecting to see Peoples for GS and Troy.

Yes I would expect Peoples if Satt believes we need a bigger back in the rotation.
I'm sure he'll see more reps with first team this coming 1.5 weeks. Don't know how it works for redshirt, if it is different for a championship and bowl game.

Interesting that Peoples was dressed out and on the sidelines last night.
