Pretty much all of Statesboro is nice. But I spent plenty of time in Chicago when I worked with Grainger. There isn't a nice part at all. Some of the surrounding areas are okay but nothing that holds a candle to Statesboro (or Boone for that matter). With that said, I'm not a fan of urban living and much prefer the rural areas. Atlanta sucks too IMO.
Cool opinion. My neighborhood in Chicago was awesome. Moved away years ago. Just never bothered changing my username here.

Back to trash talk: GaSo sucks.

One day your daddy will fix his truck and you'll be able to leave Georgia and travel a little. Assuming your parole conditions will allow it.
Speaking of parole. How did you escape from Chicago? Been hiding way up there in them mountains haven't you. Bring your thug self to our stadium incognito. We'll sneak you in promise.

I'm sure there are nice places. Buffalo Grove and Lake Forest aren't them. LOL

Now that my farm has been brought into this, I'll just say that I agree with Pike and think that Statesboro is a wonderful place. Rural towns and communities rock. Of course Boone is nice also, but at least when I drop my beer in Statesboro, I don't have to chase it down a mountain.

Funny... the Appholes calling out Eagle fans for the same old, same old.

I feel like I could pull an 8 Mile and tell you everything you're going to say about us before you say it... Stinkboro, gnats, rednecks, uneducated, Honey Boo Boo, some reference to Eagle Creek... and let's not forget the ones who will tell you how awful Statesboro is and how horrible their fans are. Funny thing is, those are the one who can't afford to make the trip or are just too plain lazy, so they build a garbage excuse in a weak attempt to justify not going. My guess is most of them have never even been to Statesboro. I do recall a trip to Boone when your fans threw full water bottles at our band and busted out some windows on the GS buses. I also recall when GS made the mistake of giving out eagle head discs pregame and they became projectiles for our student body after Eagle scores.

Your team is now ranked... if you don't make the trip it's lame. All joking aside... get your butts to Statesboro and cheer on your team. Just leave the livestock at home, don't forget your toothbrush, and boil your water before drinking.

Fair enough?
How many goat jokes have you made this week??

P51 is Mr. Original (aka TK Fanboy) and the GOAT when it comes to Statesboro Talk:

"F*** App State and the goat they rode in on"--P51
"Maybe those hilljacks can take it out of the goat *** long enough to come play a little football."--P51
"if they can keep AOL going long enough up in the holler." -- P51 must also be a UNC-C fan.
"T-Dog likes goat meat. That is all."--P51

He's practically begging App fans to show up and help fill the stadium since their fan base still hasn't bought in to their return, which just so happens to coincide with the hiring of App's Co-DC and a S&C coach as well as the RB coach from a few years ago. Coincidence?!?

Hopefully his prognostication comes true and he can go back to consuming goat cheese and self loathing.
"Appy might hang 70 or more on us. We have some serious work to do on defense. We have to find some man coverage at some point. Cover 2 kills us." --P51

The best part is, he actually does like App and thinks we're pretty swell:
"I have no issues being compared to them... I actually would agree."--P51
I have a healthy respect for what you guys do. I will also talk trash and be 100% supportive of my team. Don't read too much into most of what I post... some things are sarcastic and meant to rile people up.

That said... on paper you guys should destroy us. But... we will see.

Year after year it always cracks me up when you trash from SOUTH GEORGIA try to put App down for being more redneck than that halting site you call a town.

Eh... it's not as much fun to make fun of hippie snowflakes. You guys are basically the exact same as Western Carolina except your football team is better. The top 2 vehicles owned in Boone are the Subaru Outback and the Toyota Prius.

So you've never been to Boone. Else you'd know a red Jeep Wrangler is number 1.

My favorite experience with Georgia Southern fans was when a few of you decided to be cool and show up to Boone a few days early and drive your car through campus with your GaSo flag looking all big and bold and throwing insults at the people they were passing. They were so big and bad as they drove wrong way of a one way road and had to do like a 10-point turn as everyone else laughed at them.

If you're wondering why Stink fans are fixated on goats, it's because they lost 3 of 4 to the GOAT, and they'll never get over it.

Every App class since 2008 can claim they beat GS 3 out of 4 years.

UL gave up more v NMSU than GS. Don't forget who the DC is for the Eagles.

We generally perform well against the option but this GS team leads the conference in rushing and are 6-1, we should be worried.

Now everyone is talking about how good UL is on defense after predicting we would score at will. Perhaps, we shouldn't underestimate GS like we did UL.
I think Louisiana is a better team, top to bottom, than Southern. Louisiana's three losses have come to #1 Alabama, #16 Mississippi State, #25 App State, and a 2 point loss to Coastal. In common opponents with Georgia Southern, Louisiana has also performed better; they beat Texas State by 15 and NMSU by 28.

That said...on paper... we will see.
This is what our rivalry is about and the fact that both of our programs are fighting it out for the conference title, just like the Socon days, makes the world feel right. If we go back through the record books, you can pretty much throw out the stats and current records as they mean absolutely NOTHING when these two teams line up.

Probably 2 of the more obvious look backs are 2007 after App beat Michigan and 2013 when GS beat the Gators. Each team lost to the other in those seasons even though each had a historic FBS win. 2010 and 2011 gives us similar results. Each team wins the conference (App 2010 & GS 2011), yet they lose the rivalry game. I'm sure we could dig up another handful of examples but you get the point.

I realize there are fans in each base that want to see the other program lose. Some out of sheer hate, others "want help" or a "cushion" to win the conference. I'm not one of them. I want both teams undefeated entering the game so it means even more. Hopefully there will come a day when this game is played that both teams will have an AP number appearing next to their respective names and casual fans are forced to pay attention.

One thing I believe we can all agree on is that the Sun Belt made the best additions, especially as it pertains to FBS football, when compared to the "marketz strategy" employed by CUSA.

Now back to your regularly scheduled, hippy goats drinking stinky ditch water while sister humping meth mouthed banjo players with no teeth inside a single wide, sh*t talking! And with that said:

GaSt fans watch Maury Povich daily to be reminded that App is their daddy!
GS fans watch Maury Povich daily to be reminded that GaSt is their daddy!

It’s more fun beating Georgia Southern when they are decent. Last year I just felt sorry for them.
