App State vs. Coastal Carolina
In an effort to move on, time to start talking about Coastal. If our team doesn't regroup, they are going to lose again. Coastal is good enough to beat us and if we can't get anything going on offense, it doesn't really matter how good our defense is.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
We couldn't pass didn't matter what RB we had, the box was going to be stacked.
Hate it, but may come down to if ZT comes back for Coastal. I've kind of given up hope on conf championship game, just have to get bowl eligible and back to Alabama again.

If we actually show up, we should be fine. But it will not be an easy win. Got to get that bowl eligibility.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
The coastal and Texas state games have concerned me more than any all year due to how we played against them last year and possible letdowns on the road, sort of like the midseason lulls at Umass and ULM last year. However, now I think we regroup and handle them if we are as resilient as we have been most of the season.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
Coastal was very much in the game last year at our place and we had a healthy record setting senior QB and Jalin Moore. This year they've beaten a ULL team we struggled with, a UMass team that beat us last year, and are the only team to beat UAB this season. Our offense has got to get the chemistry going again. There is too much talent here at all positions to be a "weakness" or "concern". Long week to prepare- No excuses.

Speaking of blood in the water, Fehr's disqualification could become an "unwanted gift that keeps on giving." Depending on the way the referee writes up Fehr's flagrant personal foul, he may have to sit out the first half of the CCU game next week. It's subject to the referee's interpretation of the rules.
ARTICLE 6. Disqualified players and Coaches
A player disqualified from the game (Rule 2-27-12) must leave the playing enclosure (Rule 2-31-5) under team supervision within a reasonable amount of time after his disqualification. He must remain out of view of the field of play under team supervision for the duration of the game.
A player serving a first-half suspension due to his disqualification in the team’s previous game may participate in pre-game warm-up activities. During the first half he must remain out of view of the field of play under team supervision.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
I'm pretty sure that only applies to being ejected in the 2nd half of the game. If he had been ejected then, he would have to sit out the 1st half of the next game, but since it was in the 1st half, it should be over with.asu66 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 10:41 amSpeaking of blood in the water, Fehr's disqualification could become an "unwanted gift that keeps on giving." Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
Yep. Coastal about beat us last year. They will be a tough opponent and if we can beat them, it'll be a good win too, not a Gardner-Webb or Charlotte or S. Ala.

To be fair, Charlotte has beaten ODU, Western Kentucky, and Southern Miss this year.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
"Serving a first-half suspension" is not the same as "being ejected from a game in the first half". A player ejected in the first half serves his suspension in the second half of the same game. A player ejected in the second half serves his suspension in the first half of the next game.
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

With Hicks out last week, I'd be surprised if he didn't make the trip.

Re: App State vs. Coastal Carolina
I'm not sure how you figure that we struggled against ULL. We won by 10 with a garbage TD late, so we really we held them to 10 points. We held their rushing attack below their average. Transitive properties don't work in football and there is no need to try and correlate what one team did against a common opponent to determine outcome. The events will happen on different Saturdays with different variables. The only team that can beat App is App themselves, case in point the 5 TO's last week.MAD Doctor wrote: ↑Fri Oct 26, 2018 10:27 amCoastal was very much in the game last year at our place and we had a healthy record setting senior QB and Jalin Moore.
