Show our class/good sportsmanship and act like we're accustomed to winning. We are!

I believe we now have lay-down post and assume field staff would put them down to avoid injury/damage.

If memory serves back when I was at App we beat Marshall in a huge home game. The students tore down one of goalposts and dragged it away. The next day the Club team played a game and both teams had to use the one end for FG’s and PAT’s.

We are accustomed to winning yes. But no one has EVER won the Sun Belt Championship Game and seeing as bringing down the goal posts a few times are some of my best memories from college...let the kids have some fun.
This is fair, and more often than not I'm on Team Storm the Court/Field if it's a big win. I'm not going to be rushing to the internet to bitch if we win tomorrow and our fans storm the field. I just personally wouldn't feel this game reaches that level.

Basically, if you have to start lobbying people days before the game to storm the field if we win, then maybe that's a sign it's not exactly organic.

I would say let's just see what happens organically in the moment. The students will decide how they feel and if we win a nail-biter at the end then emotions may be running high. If a blowout or foregone conclusion early on then there might be a more muted response. However, they should do what they did last time and invite everyone on the field at the end to mingle with the players and trophy presentation celebration...

I'm not advocating that we storm the field and tear down the goal posts, but didn't Clemson rush the field after beating South Carolina last weekend? Just saying....nothing wrong with fans having some fun in the spirit of a win. Just use some sense.

I thought we had installed the collapsible posts after an upright went through the deputy's windshield.

Let's also keep in mind there's probably going to be a bowl-style trophy presentation after the game, where they'll set up a podium, bring up the team and present the trophy (along with that sweet championship belt for the MVP, which I'd forgotten about until just now). A true storming of the field (as opposed to the sort of casual mingling they allowed last week) would probably mess that up.

I've been on the field after a Carolina-Clemson game (USC, that is) and they were protecting the goalposts with pepper spray. I could smell it.

Thats was 1994. After game, wife and i ate dinner at Makados seated at street front window. We saw goal post marching down King St. with students attached.

Use the money it would cost to replace them for a bonus for the S&C staff
