Not really worried about him bouncing for a HC at another place quite yet. I wouldn't interview him if I was AD at a larger school until he can prove that he can win with his own recruits. He inherited a loaded roster and anyone that is hiring him will know that. As for the OC job, he would have to go to a top 5 program to make that kind of money. Too early for these conversations
Happens all the time in CFB though. Hot names get hired. Willie Taggatt had an all time losing record and got hired at a premier program.
Yeah it's pretty naive to think programs will wait on a guy 4-5 years like that. Do people not remember Arkansas State losing their coach four years in a row? Tons of other 1-2 year examples too.

And people shouldn't kid themselves into thinking Drink is "committed" to reaching a certain goal or staying X number of years at App. He has zero previous ties here. He's here until he gets an offer he likes better, like any other coach.
Right, that’s why I said it. Of course, I see people I work with cut bait without hesitation even for a couple of extra bucks. I can’t blame Drink if a big dog comes a knocking with a HC position. I doubt he leaves for a OC unless it’s one of the big 5 dogs (Clemson, Bama, Ohio St, Oklahoma, Georgia) or maybe Auburn.
Drink's home state's SEC flagship Arkansas Razorbacks will probably be looking for a coach come December.
Oooo. Good call. I honestly didn't think about that. Yeah..... Hmmm. Wish you hadn't of reminded me.

Drink is really good at the PR side of being a head coach. He's a natural at it.

As far as how long he'll be here, it would be best if he stayed through 2021, as that will be the biggest recruiting class in several years. We have a lot of contributing juniors right now.

He has zero record in regards to recruiting as a head coach. My guess would be 3-4 years minimum before/if an offer comes from a bigger program.

Did anyone catch Coach Drinkwitz saying "since we joined Division I?"
He said the same thing a few times on Charlotte radio as well. Goes to show you how much FCS is an afterthought for the majority of Division I Football. Thank God we moved on at a good time.
