We all kinda shook our head when Drink hires a ST only coach. Seems like that decision was a home run.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 1:28 pmThe difference in this game will be whether we continue to be opportunistic on D and special teams play.

Re: UL
I don't remember anyone really upset with that. Don't you remember the years Dale Jones was doing it and we gave up a lot of returns for touchdowns? Smart coaches try to take advantage on special teams. It is 1/3 of the game. Glad it is paying off. Hopefully we can keep him more than one year. I enjoy seeing us shift momentum with strong special teams play!AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 2:11 pmWe all kinda shook our head when Drink hires a ST only coach. Maybe I am misremembering things but the only hire I can remember being questioned is the one that is still being questioned at that us the DC.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 2:11 pmWe all kinda shook our head when Drink hires a ST only coach. Didn’t say upset. It’s odd to have a coach solely dedicated to ST at the college level.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 2:15 pmI don't remember anyone really upset with that. Smart coaches get ahead of the curve. I remember when some colleges starting having player personnel departments and at first people raised eyebrows. However, immediately after other schools started because they realized the benefit of it. I would not be surprised if Drink starts a trend and the rest of the SBC has a ST only coach by the 2021 season.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 2:20 pmDidn’t say upset. Re: UL
There is a restaurant in Houston called The Ragin’ Cajun. They serve great crawfish with all the fixin’s; thick, hot red beans and rice with andouille sausage; big, round and spicy boudin balls, Natchitoches Meat Pies (pronounced nak-uh-tish) and a spicy gumbo with a perfect roux. You can order a shrimp po-boy if you have the nerve, but expect a cold, steely-eyed stare from the owner if you do!
The only issue is that the restaurant is owned by Ragin’ Cajun alums! Old UL annuals are stacked everywhere and the walls are papered with Ragin’ Cajun news clips, photos and memorabilia! I can’t decide if I should go there to watch the game or not. Might have to be a game-day decision.

Re: UL
What's with these schools hating their real school name?
-- UNC Charlotte wanting to change to "The University of Charlotte"
-- Univ. of Louisiana Lafayette pretending they're "Louisiana"
Take some pride in your name, why don't ya?

To be fair, UNCC is almost like someone forgot the H in UNCCH or accidentally added an extra C to UNC.SayYesToTheRock wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 10:57 pmWhat's with these schools hating their real school name?
