Re: Doug Gillin?
Hearing same thing on facebook have no idea of validity as i do not know these people. Think typically an AD hire takes much longer and will not start for a while so hopefully this is not a sudden change

Re: Doug Gillin?
Wish I would have seen this before I emailed him re: the coaching search tonight.
Definitely tough timing if so. Can’t wait on a new AD to hire a coach, but then the new coach has to work for an AD who didn’t hire him.

Re: Doug Gillin?
Well, Doug Gillin came to APP STATE from Missouri where he was the Deputy Director Of Athletics. That’s a tad interesting, ya think? I do hope Doug stays at App State!

Re: Doug Gillin?
I have a friend who has inside knowledge at Mizzou.. he told me Saturday night Drink was likely unless Drink had crazy demands (interestingly, the demands are what made him decline Arkansas.) He has been saying their athletic department has been pegging DG for the last 6 months...
I don't think Gillin goes to Mizzou or Cincy, but he is a wanted commodity.

Re: Doug Gillin?
I have a buddy who is VERY close to the Cincy football program and mentioned DG last night as we were texting about Drink.
All he said was his name had been put out there as a possible replacement for Mike Bohn who left for USC in early November... nothing concrete, yet. I’ll keep you posted as he fills me in.

Re: Doug Gillin?
Hopefully DG stays...there's a LOT of projects going on with the program that he should stay to see through. If not hopefully we get another forward-thinking replacement who's priority is to get this school into the American and for the love of God not be another Charlie Cobb.

Since Peacock is still on staff perhaps they should pay him to assist with the next AD search. Whenever that time comes. He has always had a solid vision to benefit athletics as well as academics.

Worse? It might just be me, however, I'm beginning to get the feeling that the drink departure might be a good thing. Time will tell.

Re: Doug Gillin?
If it happens, losing Gillin would be a tremendous loss. When a HC leaves, it falls upon the AD to make to hiring decision, subject to the trustees approval of course. If we must find a new AD, is there a search committee formed? And who is our current asst. AD that would most likely be the acting AD in the interim?
