I’d put the odds we see SC in Boone at 5%. They did it to ECU just two years ago.

It would be awful optics if they do. If they buy out of Boone they better buy out of our other trip to Columbia. I would not dare go back down there until they play us in Boone. Maybe Muschamp is gone and they are a 10-11 win team by the time they are suppose to come to Boone and they want the chance to beat a top 5 G5 team to help their OOC resume.

I know people like to dump on the ACC but it isn't as weak as people make it out to be.

In the 2000's to now the ACC has had the best bowl record 3 times, best other P5's have is twice.
BCS era ACC in the natty 4 times, won it twice.
BCS era teams added to ACC (Miami/VT) in the natty 3 times won it once.
CFP era ACC in 3 times and won it twice.

I could throw out more random stats but the picture pretty well can show that the ACC of the last 20 years really hasn't been a weak conference.
Citing statistics from the last 20 years doesn't make the ACC strong. When someone says the ACC is weak they're not talking the last 20 years... They're talking about the relevant past. For the last 2 or 3 years, outside of the Clemson, the ACC has been trash and there is no other way to spin it. Miami, FSU, VT, all teams that in the past have been great have even been down. Nothing against UVA but when they're in the ACC title game... its been a bad year for that conference. I would argue that if you remove Clemson, there would be an argument to replace the ACC with AAC as it currently stands in football.

A lot of has beens in the ACC with Miami, VT, and FSU. They should join a conference with Tennessee, Texas and Southern Cal. I'd imagine all are capable of becoming a powerhouse again. I'd give the nod to Texas or FSU to get there first.

The ACC needs for someone other than Clemson to become "relevant". Satterfield's chance to get Louisville to the upper level of that Conference looks promising.
