Not that this is confirmation but according to his Twitter account, he is. Said he is not playing at UNCC and transferring to App.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
If this is true, what are the rules on his eligibility going from a FCS to another FCS school?

Same as FBS to FBS - he'd have to sit a year.kiddbrewer wrote:If this is true, what are the rules on his eligibility going from a FCS to another FCS school?

Really, what would be the rules transferring from a program that has yet to play a game?kiddbrewer wrote:If this is true, what are the rules on his eligibility going from a FCS to another FCS school?

Sounds like kids that were choosing between FBS or rich history no longer have to make that choice.asumike83 wrote:Not that this is confirmation but according to his Twitter account, he is. Said he is not playing at UNCC and transferring to App.

I remember how much chest-thumping the Charlotte fans were doing when he switched over on Signing Day last year.
Weird how things turn out eventually.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
That would suck, but would he have 4 years of eligibility? Or 3?BeauFoster wrote:Same as FBS to FBS - he'd have to sit a year.kiddbrewer wrote:If this is true, what are the rules on his eligibility going from a FCS to another FCS school?

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I saw this earlier but I haven't been able to truly confirm it through any sources other than his twitter so I hadn't put it up yet. The other reason was I wanted to see, if true, how many years he would have. If I hear anything I'll let you know.
EDIT: I just checked their football page and he's not listed on their roster. Not enough confirmation (could be a grades thing for example) but it does mean there might be something to this)

If he's been at UNCC for 1 season, he'd have 4 more to play. After sitting, he'd have 3 remaining.kiddbrewer wrote:That would suck, but would he have 4 years of eligibility? But have they actually had a season though? They've not played any gamesBeauFoster wrote:If he's been at UNCC for 1 season, he'd have 4 more to play. He should truthfully be allowed to transfer without having to sit out

Re: Recruiting, 2013
College is college. Generally, you've got 5 years to play 4. Even though I never played football in college, I believe I'd only have one year of NCAA eligibility remaining (tell Satterfield to call me).mtnjax wrote:But have they actually had a season though? Re: Recruiting, 2013
I wonder if there is an exception for a start-up program? If 2012 didn't count as a redshirt season because they hadn't started yet, maybe he could sit out 2013 and have 4 remaining.

I was thinking the same thing Mike. That's why I hadn't said anything. I wanted to know what the rules were concerning a start-up.asumike83 wrote:I wonder if there is an exception for a start-up program? Re: Recruiting, 2013
I have now added WR Jaquil Capel (5′ 11″ 190) of West Montgomery High School in Mount Gilead, NC (FBS Transfer from UNCC) to the 2013 Recruiting page along with a video clip.
From what I can gather he will sit next year and have 3 years of eligibility remaining. This is the best information I can find at this time but if I hear anything different I'll let everyone know.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
I'm pretty sure the rules are you have 5 years to play 4 and that starts when you start college. So even though I got out in 4, my last year of eligibility was used up the year after I graduated. If he's been a year in college even though he didn't play a game, that would count as a year of eligability. I don't know how the redshirt would work in this instance of it being a new team, but I was thinking you were limited on how many people you could redshirt. I would expect him to have 3 years of eligability.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Have just seen several tweets from OL Jaydell Roy (6' 6' 320) of Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA. He has sent every offense coach we have a tweet asking if we were looking for an OT for 2013. Coach Sloan responded with the tweet below. I found a video clip also.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Per Twitter K/P Bentlee Critcher (6' 0" 175) of Warner Christian Academy in Daytona Beach, FL has "signed" with App. He did hold an offer according to Rivals and is listed as a 3 star ESPN player with a 70 grade. He is also listed as an ATH/DB/WR and KR in his YouTube videos I have put up. He pretty much does it all. Take a look. I have put him in the "Other Newcomers" section of the 2013 recruit page until I see exactly what he is getting. I'll update once I find out.

Re: Recruiting, 2013
Here's the skinny on the Ole Miss transfer DB Frank Crawford (6' 1" 180). Coming out of high school he was rated the No. 58 player in Florida by SuperPrep ... Rated 3 stars and the No. 41 safety in the nation and the No. 88 player in Florida by Rivals.com ... Listed as the No. 53 safety in the nation by Scout.com and No. 30 by ESPN ... Rated the No. 67 player in Florida by the Miami Herald
As stated in the other thread he has graduated from Ole Miss so he can play this year and will have 1 year left. Should allow us to redshirt another incoming DB and should give us some senior leadership to coach the new kids along. I'll have a profile page up for him shortly on the 2013 Recruiting Page.
