Re: NEZ work today
Thoughts on adding a big backlit Yosef Head on the right side of North End Zone building exterior stairwell column facing the field?

Re: NEZ work today
I would say that it would take a specific donation to make that happen. I believe that DG is not a fan of the Yosef head, so that would likely be the only way that happens. To be fair, I would expect the same scenario with a Block A.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 9:45 amThoughts on adding a big backlit Yosef Head on the right side of North End Zone building exterior stairwell column facing the field?

Looks like maybe the permanent beams are beginning to be installed under the NEZ stands. To early to get a feel for how they are going to look.

Re: NEZ work today
I'm a little off topic....but I find it strange among our App bitchin brethren...myself included sometimes.....that seldom anyone mentions our need for much improved stadium lighting for night games.
Yeah, I know of course about first things first and money, etc.
I just find it odd among all the things we complain about that the lighting never gets discussed in this forum. I would like to think it is a future concern among the powers that be and planned to be addressed when we can.
All I'm saying is when you watch a rare App game at night on TV you shouldn't be seeing dark shadows of the players on the ground.... Johnboy have a nice day.

Re: NEZ work today
I agree 100%. A few years ago both App St and EasyU were playing separate game on Thursday night on two different ESPN channels. The EasyU lighting looked like a real college atmosphere. Our lighting was dark.. glorified high school view from.lighting perspective.CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:45 amI'm a little off topic....but I find it strange among our App bitchin brethren...myself included sometimes.....that seldom anyone mentions our need for much improved stadium lighting for night games.

Re: NEZ work today
Man, from some of those pictures the YC posted on Twitter, I can still see Howard’s Knob. I was made to believe this building would completely obstruct my view. When are they going to add the other 4 floors and block it?

Re: NEZ work today
It probably will block some of it if you are in the student section. You should be be able to see the knob from your season ticket holder seats.BeauFoster wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 4:16 pmMan, from some of those pictures the YC posted on Twitter, I can still see Howard’s Knob. Hello............... I like Howard's Knob more than most. BUT I'm at the game to watch the field and cheer for some sand paper waxing. I'll go enjoy the HN view after a win.Appstate88 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 7:17 pmIt probably will block some of it if you are in the student section. I can already see 500 people on that party deck enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres before the game.

It's spelled Howard Knob. I don't want a view of Howard's knob or anyone else's for that matterWoodstovegang wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:29 pmHello............... I like Howard's Knob more than most. Re: NEZ work today
The athletics facility is so damn tall our TV coverage always seems likes it's filmed from a blimp. It made KBS looks so much worse bc of the track and Owens Field House. Old KBS was a beauty in person and looked like shit on TV. It's going to look SOOOO nice from that angle now with all the changes, and the Knob will get plenty of screen time.
Side note: the loudest place in KBS used to be on top of Owens Field House. I remember shooting games from that roof 2009-11 and it sounded like the loudest P5 stadiums from up there. All that's going to bounce back into the field now that we're basically building a 5-story brick wall right on the endline. I really think people will be surprised with how much louder we're going to be. It will truly be one of the loudest stadiums in the country.
