It would be AWESOME! Seems very slim, but one can hope. I don't blame the AD at all for this, it kind of is what it is for everyone.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:30 pmThis would be the best game we could get if we can make it happen. I rather play UCF, even in Orlando, than any FCS or D2. We could make a huge statement with a win against them.NashvilleNeer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:25 pmyeah, it sure seems that way as of now. I'm guessing UNC & UCF will more than likely cancel from what i'm hearing, so wish we could get that UCF open game, but seems doubtful.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 7:16 pmI was about to say same thing Appst94 said. No P5 this year and it would not shock me if we don't see any G5 games at all.NashvilleNeer wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2020 5:31 pmSucks. Really wanted that Wake game to happen while this group was together and we're the clear favorite. Any other ACC schools with an opening?

Re: Schedule
If we get 1 good OOC game this year it’ll be good to me. That is not counting UMass. I figure 2 FCS (or maybe UNCC and FCS if we are lucky?). Not sure UNCC would be considered the good game, our fans seem split on it.

It was moved to the proper Open thread. Re: Schedule
They had a Home and Home with ODU already scheduled. I believe that the game this season was originally scheduled for Norfolk. They just flipped it.

Pathetic performance by the Athletic Department. Should have At minimum had a replacement before letting them out of the contract. App had their balls in a vice grip with Boone being an hour and a half up the road and everyone wanting to reduce travel distance This season. App just got played, screwed over and out negotiated by a mediocre ACC team.

Not true at all, but ok. Who's to say Wake didn't give us money for this change? And we need the money right now... While not ideal for fans and players this season, it's a better overall move in the long run.BTK2000 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:34 amPathetic performance by the Athletic Department. Talked to a guy today at work who just recovered. He is the first person I know who contracted the virus. He said he was pretty weak for several days and had to force himself to eat and do some things. Overall though he says the regular flu is much worse. He is 50ish with no real underlying health issues.

Re: Schedule
Gotta agree with BTK here, Gillin continues to let P5 AD’s roll him. I saw Charlie Cobb with a full throated declaration that they expect cancellation fees down at Georgia State, and Gillin should have done the same thing. And i would bet my house Wake isn’t giving us a dollar for this, it would have been mentioned in App’s press release if they did.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 10:43 amNot true at all, but ok. Re: Schedule
I had the virus two weeks ago and my experience was very much the same. I am 60. I had a terrible headache, low grade fever, got out of breathe easy and had stomach upset. I fought with my wife about getting tested and I was shocked I was positive because I didn’t have the cough or tightness in the chest. It does manifest differently in different folks. I am very thankful I had what I consider a minor case. I am released from quarantine, but my wife who has tested negative is still quarantined till 8-16. I don’t know of anyone I have been around that has had Covid. I wear my mask just like I did before. It is a numbers game.bigdaddyg wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 12:15 pmTalked to a guy today at work who just recovered. He is the first person I know who contracted the virus. Surely you aren't suggestion that Charlie Cobb's record of scheduling ranks him higher than Gillin. I trust in Doug.Yosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 12:25 pmGotta agree with BTK here, Gillin continues to let P5 AD’s roll him. Re: Schedule
I don't want to be walked all over by the Prig 5 schools but those games are bigger for us than they are for them. We could make some demands now and live to regret it in a few years when we have a hard time getting the games we want due to burning some bridges now. Cobb may or may not be around to deal with those problems at GaSt.mike87 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 12:31 pmSurely you aren't suggestion that Charlie Cobb's record of scheduling ranks him higher than Gillin. I trust DG to do all he can to have App treated well now and in the future. And if he are going to be f'ed over better this year which may not even be played.
This is my very generic signature added to each post.
