Kind of crazy that Tennessee and Penn State were both on this day too. What could have been...

My daughter is 13 today. 9/1/07 was the greatest day of my life.

I never get tired of hearing this play and feeling the passion of two legendary Mountaineers..David Jackson and Steve Brown...I recorded the game and never returned the DVR to DirecTV when we moved so that I could always have the game. I think I'm going to pull it out and watch that game again this weekend../\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 9:18 amBrings a smile to my face every time I heard it.

After the block, I said my wife and our friends who were with us - "I don't believe what I just saw" - kudos to Jack Buck ---
And then said - I believe we have just witnessed the biggest upset in sports history - and to this day I always have a smile when I think of that great day!!!

Re: This Day in Mountaineer History: Ann Arbor
What an incredible day. I was a senior at App. My roommate somehow got us tickets on the FRONT ROW behind the App bench. We were right in line with the block. To this day, I have no idea how he secured those tickets. There were 4 of us my roommate and his dad, my dad and myself. Leading up to the game we had some Michigan fans who were pretending to be nice but were dripping with arrogance. They told us “Lloyd Carr is a good man, he won’t run the score up.” They were sooo excited to see highly touted freshman QB Ryan Mallett. They estimated he would get in by the 2nd quarter. Needless to say we never saw Mr Mallett take the field that day...
For some reason those guys were nowhere to be seen when immediately after the game.
I will never forget that feeling after the block. Standing on the brick wall around the field losing my mind. I swear it took a week to stop shaking and to calm down after that game.
Michigan football still hasn’t recovered....13 years later.
GO APPS!!
