Boone for 1 game this year
If you could be in Boone for only 1 game this year, which game would you choose? Since I am in Arizona, there is a chance I might be able to make it just for a weekend trip this year. Thank you for your input!

Re: Boone for 1 game this year
Well, this week's matchup with Montana would have been my choice (yes I'm in Boone this weekend), but of the remaining games I would go for either Furman or Wofford. Wofford is projected as the better matchup on the field, but Furman is more of a historical rival and seems to always be a good game.
The good part is that you can't make a bad decision. If the Apps are on the field, it will be a great day in Boone!

Thanks 84'! True, I think that there are two parts to any game experience. First, the game itself. If the game is going to be a blowout, why travel so far when I can come another week. I think that I can look at the schedule, rankings and record and determine a good weekend matchup. Since I haven't been to Boone in many years .... yikes, almost 20 years, the hard part to determine is the GAME DAY experience. I remember great tailgating experience from my days at App in the late 80's and early 90's, but I thought I might ask the board for their opinions on which weekend to come to Boone for the best overall weekend experience. I don't think I prefaced my initial question well enough. I would really value any and all opinions. I wish I could be there more but can't.

I agree with the other poster that today would have probably been my choice. However, the Wofford game will be close to peak fall colors, and a developing rivalry. I am coming to the Furman game in November (3 day weekend). We owe both of those teams from last year.

The quality of the game is the reason I recommended Wofford or Furman. The others are "ify" about how competitive they are likely to be. Trust me....if you haven't been here in 20 years, you're in for a treat regarding the "game day experience." There is no comparison between now and what it was like "back in the day."

Very good and thanks for the input!! I'm psyched for the game today. These are the games I imagined coming to see and I am glad to hear your recommendations. Thanks a ton! Especially out here when people ask me who my college team is, I say I'm an App man. I don't follow suit on the Carolina Panthers as they were not there before I left NC.

I agree with FUrman and WoCo if you want a sure fire "good game." Homecoming typically draws the biggest crowd and you see more "pageantry." Any of those three games would be the best of the rest (Montana was the best).App N AZ wrote:Thanks 84'! True, I think that there are two parts to any game experience. First, the game itself.
