Re: App on ESPN2
With our culture of next man up, we have developed players on the two and even three deep who can play. This is one reason our defense is so good. I remember Logan Hallock who subbed for Pressley against The Kullowhee Kitties, going 23 for 24 and winning SoCon player of the week. We shall be fine.

I'll actually be interested in what the TV ratings for the game will be.ah59396 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:52 amI want to win this one bad. But I hope we don’t embarrass ourselves. There will be a lot of eyeballs on this game just like the Marshall one.
Getting smoked by Coastal Carolina would not be a good look. I think our defense will keep it close but I’m worried about our ability to do literally anything on offense.

Re: App on ESPN2
According to google, it is accurate 73% of the time. However, anecdotally, it only seems accurate when the outcome is obvious. It had App as heavy underdogs against UNC and South Carolina last year and has had App heavy favorites the last two years against GA Southern. In a game that is sure to be close, like App-Coastal, I think FPI is worthless.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:26 amHow accurate is it?MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 9:23 amThat index thing on ESPN.com is based on FPI, a system that is literally just whatever ESPN analysts think. It isn’t based on statistics or any real, measurable anything. I want everyone to ignore FPI forever. I will die on this hill.GrifApp wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 8:51 amI see where the App St vs CCU game was picked up by ESPN2 after the victory yesterday. I also see where the index used for estimating the likely winner dropped for the Mountaineers. Perhaps due to the overall performance against GSU or Thomas getting injured? Perhaps both?
