Re: Decision Announcements
This is all good, it what about the other side of this coin? How many players do you think we will lose to the transfer portal in light of this?
Re: Decision Announcements
To me thats not too worrisome if we lose some depth guys to keep these high quality guys.
My bigger concern is...we will lose a TON in 2022. Coach Clark needs to be able to talk some of the juniors into using an extra year so the drop-off isn't so steep.

Re: Decision Announcements
I am a little concerned about this. Or even if they stay, guys might wither on the vine if they wait yet another year to play.rbarthle17 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:44 pmThis is all good, it what about the other side of this coin? I’m glad that so many of these guys feel this good about their App experience and some of them are no-brainers, but I do wonder if in some cases we might have young guys who could have been just as productive and would get valuable experience for ‘22 and beyond.

Re: Decision Announcements
My view is that this is a great problem to have even if it were a problem. Many G5 schools are dealing with similar decisions. The younger guys will get some reps that will make them even better for 2022. If Pinkney (sp? and transfer from Va Tech) turns out to be good and with Sutton coming back, we are loaded. I will take that 8 out of 7 days a week....This OC has maybe the most talented offense coming back for 2021 at the G5 level. Cannot wait to get back to go to Charlotte, Miami and several in KBS!!!EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:58 pmI am a little concerned about this. Re: Decision Announcements
I’m starting to think a lot of these guys are coming back for a couple of reasons. First, they didn’t get a proper “normal” senior year. Secondly, a lot of them are saying “unfinished business.” Me thinks these guys didn’t enjoy dropping 3 games and missing out on the conference title.
These boys are gonna be hungry to reclaim their rightful place on the throne.
2021 is gonna be fun!

Re: Decision Announcements
The injuries to a lot of them this season probably is a big factor as well.

Re: Decision Announcements
wonder if Huesman and/or Zac use this opportunity to play elsewhere for a year. I'm sure Huesman could have an opportunity to start at QB somewhere, if he's interested.

Re: Decision Announcements
The transfer portal has gotten so enormously filled with talent this year, unless you are a 4 or 5 star player or you've been promised a spot on some other squad, it would be stupid to enter it right now especially if you're a underclassmen. I hope the young kids see this and stick it out.rbarthle17 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:44 pmThis is all good, it what about the other side of this coin? Re: Decision Announcements
I am having that same thought. As a fan I selfishly want the studs to come back so that we (on paper) look potentially better than ever. The parent part of me who has two boys who have played baseball for years (high school seniors now) hopes that they get an opportunity for one more year to start. Here in NC kids in the Spring got robbed of a season last year. I know it’s different for college football but still. You are potentially asking guys to wait again for playing opportunities. I just hope there aren’t locker room issues. We will have a ridiculously deep receiver group and potentially little opportunity for some really good players who have waited. Hopefully it will sort itself out.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 8:58 pmI am a little concerned about this. Re: Decision Announcements
How are our 2021 opponents doing on retaining their seniors for a sixth year? Is there a website tracking all this? Like us, I imagine everyone will be loaded.

Re: Decision Announcements
He is a team player for sure. Most kids would have left the team to play somewhere else. He and Zac are very close friends too. Jacob is such a good kid.
