At least they had a place to play. Where are our Track teams running, pole vaulting, shot put, discus, etc. ? Hardin Park Elementary School or in the parking lot of Horney in the West, smart mouth?BeauFoster wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 4:57 pmHello 9-1-1...I’d like to report a murder. I would think the field events are using the outdoor area between Softball and indoor practice facility they always have. Along with the areas in Holmes for cold weather. John use your brain once in a while instead of being a smart ass. You do have a brain since you did graduate from ASU.

Yeah, I know. It's sort of like members of this forum calling for firing of coaches two games into the season. Saying players are lazy or unmotivated just by watching them from 300 ft up in the stands, etc.huskie3 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 06, 2021 8:59 pmI would think the field events are using the outdoor area between Softball and indoor practice facility they always have. Re: What's next for stadium projects?
When I first heard about the NEZ project, the first 2 questions that popped into my head were:T-Dog wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 1:20 pmOne thing I just thought about was a non-football trophy room. There's some trophies and game balls from basketball in the Varsity Gym trophy case next to ROTC awards. Where's the wrestling conference titles? And last time I checked, the 2000 SoCon MBB Title wasn't there. What about the WBB SoCon title trophies and the WBI trophies?
Also, in Owens, there was windowless room that had all the XC/T&F conference titles trophies. I'm talking dozens of trophies. We need to showcase all that.
- Will NEZ have dedicated space for YC functions?
- Will NEZ have space for a App State Athletics Hall of Fame?
With all those good feelings a HOF would stir up, I was also thinking it might be a good place to strategically place some YC folks to ask people to join the club.

It really is crooked as hell. The pillars really bothers me the most, but anyone know why they didn't try to make everything more aligned?

I could be totally wrong, but I assumed it was because they aligned the new building with the expectation that eventually the field would be shifted over for re-structured stands.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 12:11 pmIt really is crooked as hell. And I guess why didn't they extend the seating in front of the pillar on the right like they did on the left? that one is the most head scratching to me.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:01 amI could be totally wrong, but I assumed it was because they aligned the new building with the expectation that eventually the field would be shifted over for re-structured stands.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 12:11 pmIt really is crooked as hell. it's got to be a home field advantage for kicking field goals though. Maybe credit for gamesmanship is dueHoward Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:44 amAnd I guess why didn't they extend the seating in front of the pillar on the right like they did on the left? that one is the most head scratching to me.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:01 amI could be totally wrong, but I assumed it was because they aligned the new building with the expectation that eventually the field would be shifted over for re-structured stands.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 12:11 pmIt really is crooked as hell. Re: What's next for stadium projects?
Does anyone know what the plan is for the screen walls around the mechanical units on the roof of the NEZ? That looks to be the only thing on the exterior they have not finished besides possibly a ribbon board or other screen show play clock. I have noticed the steel framing for the walls has been in place for a while but they never installed any metal panels. Every rendering I look at has different colored panels. I saw one with green which will match other buildings on campus but I personally don’t think would look good. Then again I dont know what would look good besides using brick to match everything else but I am not sure if the framing could support that.

Would be impossible to sell, as it is now two sections are looking down the sideline if they look straight ahead.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:44 amAnd I guess why didn't they extend the seating in front of the pillar on the right like they did on the left? that one is the most head scratching to me.Yosef84 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:01 amI could be totally wrong, but I assumed it was because they aligned the new building with the expectation that eventually the field would be shifted over for re-structured stands.Howard Street Hooligan wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 12:11 pmIt really is crooked as hell. What's next for NEZ? Hopefully nothing until we have a legitimate Track & Field facility and a separate soccer field for use by Men primarily.

Likewise, AVA. Just my opinion. Is this unreasonable? We look high schoolish without a comprehensive track anywhere on campus. I haven't seen a high school in years without a track. Perhaps I haven't looked enough???
