Marshall fans already poking the bear

Unread post by appdaze » Fri Aug 12, 2022 5:46 pm

Fans under 40 most likely don't remember the late 80's and early 90's rivalry with marshall, but I think they could be more fun than the stink. In the AE and after era, when JM reshaped a lot, we are 12-5 against the stink. We love to hate on them, but it isn't what it once was.

Gotta give credit where it’s due…that was a hell of a special teams play.

Don't mind this at all. They're doing their thing counting down to the season like the rest of us are. And yeh that was a great special teams play; great call. I was in endzone seats and didn't find ball until he was at the 20 lol. Most important...a great and memorable win for us. Having the rivalry back means wins like this mean more. APP BABY!!!!

I’m still bothered by Marshall’s win in the 1987 I-AA semifinal, especially after App State’s win in the regular season that year and perfect SoCon record. That ‘87 team could have won it all.

100% Amen. I'm still pissed, I still hate Marshall more than any other team. Dirty, rotten, stinkin', no good, miserable Turds. I won't even watch We Are Marshall because I don't want to feel any empathy towards them. But don't worry, I'm much better now than I was in '87. Only see the shrink once a week for it instead of daily

I do not think we would be where we are now without Georgia Southern filling the void left by Marshall and our success in the Sunbelt.

Marshall coming to the belt has a lot of older App fans fired up. They remember. I expect we will travel heavy for that one Wk 10. Speaking of Marshall, anyone see Rand. Moss play at KBS in 1996?

Muck Farshall. I agree with Butch1991. “Dirty, rotten, stinking, no good …” and may I add “black hearted, yellow livered, low down, miserable, callous, bitching, big-headed, pompous, pig smelling, cowardly …”. I feel better now.

I did. I remember the bomb from Pennington to Moss. Long touchdown. Quite honestly they made it look so easy you thought they would have done it all game.

Glad Marshall is in the SBC and will be an annual opponent for us. I love going there and most of the fans I have met are friendly, well behaved, and mature. They love their school like we love ours.

I believe you meant to say...they love their school almost as much, but not quite as much, as we love App. St.🤣

Marshall and App get along much better than Georgia Southern and App do.
