Duke is the last DI team in the state we have not played at this point I think and played in Boone also.

Will most likely stay that way. DOOK wants NOTHING to do with us. They need to come around and man up!! It would bring good money in to play App State.

I don't blame Duke for staying away. I wish they would play us but the good gate from it probably does not outweigh the impact of a beating by a SBC team that is so close to them. If we somehow get them on the schedule I will wonder what their AD is smoking.

Their AD should only be thinking about gate. Gate, gate, gate! Can we sell tickets by booking this team?

Of course they would sell tickets but if I'm the AD I'm looking for G5 games I can win. I would think Charlotte, ODU, and FCS games would be safer bets and they could still bring in money hosting them. I would honestly expect to win by 24+.

Feeling is mutual for me. There's nothing in Durham that I need to see. Unless it's tied to something that'd benefit our Basketball team count me out

I did not say they would win all those games. I just said they are safer bets. LOL

If Charlotte beats them, jut think what we would do to them. I'm guessing something like 38-14. Duke's coaches want nothing to do with us but it would make money and the AD would be smart, from a financial standpoint, to schedule a series with us going there and them coming up the mountain. I just don't see them doing it. They have always been scared and that has not appeared to change.

Indeed. Just imagine though if they can't beat Charlotte how bad we would beat them? They are definitely afraid of that beat down. Duke has been competitive before but they really aren't these days. I would feel confident that we would have our backups in the game by start of 4th quarter.

It would be a really good gate but you are right about that. They are trying to play G5 teams they can beat. If they can't beat Charlotte you know they don't want to play us. I wish they would play us but I don't blame them.

I don't know. But I do know the talks started the Sunday after beating A&M. It's not a coincidence.

More reason to go public. Hell I’d give them a clean cancellation if they just released a statement that read “we bc state are scared to come to Boone”. We’d get more in publicity then the game itself

Why would they back out? Very stupid after just agreeing to it. We just lost to JMU. Backing out is short sided here because as good as we could be by then we could be pretty bad as well. You never know and that’s the risk you make when you schedule teams far in advance.

It makes them look bad. Why would a top 20 team be scared of us right now? If they got scared after A&M the last two weeks should make them feel better unless they fear losing to us and then we turn out to be a bad loss because we fall apart after?

Like bcoach, I’d be curious to know the source. I live in Wake County, but I’ve heard nothing. Why would State cancel right after scheduling a home-and-home?
