Still a chance

Unread post by t4pizza » Wed Oct 19, 2022 10:16 pm

We now sit at 4-3 and seem to have rediscovered our running game which everyone here knows is our bread and butter. After this game we still have a chance at an East title. We need to win out and someone else has to beat ODU. We can do it without question, but will we? After our second half tonight, I think the answer is a resounding YES!

Also, Cam now has 534 rushing yards on the season with 5 games to play. He only needs 466 to get to a 1000 and allow App to have a 1000 yard back for the 11th straight year. That is only 93.2 yards per game for the next 5 games. No question he can get that, only question is will our staff let him have enough carries to get there.

As bad as it has been so far this year, we can still get a 1000 yard back and still win the East. We just need to play App State football.

He can get a chance at a 6th game if we make a bowl too…and perhaps a 7th.

Yes, but better to get in in the regular season. Hopefully he has 7 more games, but only 5 are for sure.

I agree, just need to play the rest of the season like we did tonight. I'd like to go PA a little more but when Castle is averaging 4+yards a carry what can I say. Just stop being flat to start the game.

Keep in mind Georgia State’s run defense is bad. We won’t do this against everyone.

Get him 150 next week, then he needs 80/week.

True, but of our remaining conference games we play against the worst, 3rd worst, and 5th worst run defenses in the conference. We should be able to run all over Southern and ODU. Marshall will be a problem.

Next week is going to be ridiculous. We just need to avoid a bad injury. Cam should get his 100 pretty quickly but we will probably substitute liberally in the backfield. I'm sure that the coaches aren't worried about this milestone at this point. Whatever we did on the line other than the center change was amazing. We were blowing the doors off of those dudes. Keep up that intensity and we will get similar results in the last 4 big games.
