ESPN3 to TV Connection

Unread post by Appsolutely » Wed Aug 28, 2013 1:58 pm

What type of cable is required to pull up the game on the internet (ESPN3) and run it to your TV?

If you have a laptop with an HDMI cable, that is the easiest and the way I do it.

I have a desktop, but I guess that doesn't matter if the cable is long enough. And (forgive my stupidity, please) does it go into the cable box or straight into the TV?

If you have an LCD TV it probably has a serial port just like a computer moniter. So a serial cable with an audio cable. Easy to get at best buy. You might have to buy the audio cable seperate but they are cheap. It has male connections on each end like an ipod ear bud jack. If you have a newer laptop and newer TV they probably have HDMI ports so one HDMI cable would carry audio and video. Hope that helps.

HDMI would go straight into the TV. appbio91 gave you all the information you should need. Good luck!

Will the new LED sets with wifi get "the Trey"? I have never used the option but I was just thinking I think I bought a set with wifi capability!

Thanks in advance!

Spend $50 and get a roku. Simple to use and works great. Doesnt require a separate subscription (like xbox live) nor does it require a computer.

From what I understand a RoKu isn't compatible with ESPN3.

You can use the Roku with the Plex Media Server and App to view it.
That's what I do. I gripe and I know things.

How did you get this to work with Roku? I have a Roku2 XD and I don't see ESPN3.

I think you mean a VGA cable, not a serial cable.

Otherwise your info is spot on.

Apple Tv is the best $100 I ever spent. With couchtuner.eu and espn3 there is always something to watch.
