Co-head coach
If I were a GM...I would make a co-head coach for offense and defense.
I would judge them on their own merit based on offense and defense stats.
Fire one without causing the other problems that is doing his job.

A head coach for the O and a head coach for the D. They have nothing to do with each other. It gives the head coach an out.

That's what OC's and DC's are for.

Yep,you and BF, but they serve the same purpose. So you think we should have an Offensive Head Coach, a Defensive head Coach, and Offensive Coordinator and a Defensive Coordinator. OK

Re: Co-head coach
no need for an offensive coordinator or defensive coordinator. They should recruit their players and be responsible for their calls.

Re: Co-head coach
This sounds like some cockamamie management consultant idea that would absolutely fail spectacularly. There has to be a boss-someone to own the performance. Having co head coaches is the exact opposite of what is needed-we need a real leader who will make difficult decisions when they need to be made, and will own the end result.
That’s in good times and bad.

Re: Co-head coach
I am serious about the theory. Take the head coaching salery and the two coordinator's salery and divide by two and get a VERY good offensive head coach and a VERY good defensive coordinator that are excited to work for that amount of money.

Re: Co-head coach
There is no GM in the university to make that call- it isn't professional. What is a salery?

Re: Co-head coach
So under your plan neither "head coach" has anything to do with the other? So defensive head coach decides to blitz every play and go zone no matter what is happening with the offense? And the offensive head coach decides to go for it on 4th no matter how the defense is playing? Uh, try again with a plan.
And who exactly is the GM?
And who exactly is the GM?

Re: Co-head coach
I just came up with the idea....you all need to make it work. I don't have all the answers. I. Just an armchair quart...I mean AD. Maybe the AD can be GM.
