Intro video...Eric church

Unread post by ASU1234 » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:45 am

Noticed we finally updated the intro video....the new video has ASU alum Eric Church saying WELCOME TO THE ROCK. This is a great video and great way to use a very popular alum.

Anyone know where to find a video of this?

Not sure about what you are talking about but I have another question?

Was that a video of us in our practice shirts in pregame?

HATED this so much. I know this will get blasted by a few but I rather have THE James Bond than a mediocre country music singer, even if he is an alum.

Agreed! I can't stand country music - I could care less about some alum that could care less about his school

Really? You'd rather have some over-the-hill actor who has absolutely nothing to do with App State speaking a line in a movie made before most of our fans were born over a heartfelt welcome to The Rock from an alumnus who is the current CMA Album of the Year winner? Good grief.

Some things shouldn't be messed with. Sean Connery > Eric Church by a country mile.

He loves his former school so much that he's done so many shows here, right? He has played Western more recently than App.

yeah, lets not take the opportunity to capitalize on one of our current famous alumni wanting to help out his university. it can be used as a recruiting advantage against other Sun Belt and regional teams we're going against.

Don't see why we couldn't do some of both. The video intro does not have to always be exactly the same thing. Could keep the theme of "The Rock" and have different video clips, different "famous folks" featured, etc. Would like to see us take advantage of some of the Eric Church popularity, especially if he's willing to be involved to some degree. Embrace the future folks.

i dont care about that but they are playing too much piped in music in my opinion and the music sucks! i want hard pounding music...not crappy boyband bubble gum stuff...sorry...just me! also...since we're bitching...why for the love of god have they not fixed the steps on the west side on the lower level? they're crumbling and in need of a fresh coat of paint...it looks like a neglected high school seating area...let the bemoaning begin cause i dont wanna complain more about play calling!

I agree, way too much piped in music and usually at the wrong time. At one point Sat. the ref made a terrible call and the crowd was all over him, yelling and screaming. Then the PA starts playing some dance song and completely kills the mood. If there has to be that much music, I would rather hear the band of distinction.

Any intro without Sean Connery's "Welcome To The Rock" is totally unacceptable.

Gotta go with Sean Connery too, though Eric Church saying "Welcome to the Rock!" beats Clay Aiken saying, "Welcome to Richardson's Shaft".
