Re: Official Buried treasure prediction thread
I'm surprised how many are predicting App scores more than 30, I just don't see it unless our defense scores.

Re: Official Buried treasure prediction thread
I'm genuinely curious why some of y'all think this will be a close game? What has ECU shown? Yes, they've played two good teams. Sure, they don't want to lose three in a row. However, I don't see anything that makes me think ECU is very good this year. App took a top 25 ranked team with a pre-season Heisman candidate QB into double OT last week. ECU got smoked by Marshall. I may be wrong, but I don't think I am.

Re: Official Buried treasure prediction thread
I think we will win, but we won't boat race them.
I see us getting up by 10 early, but EZU hanging around for most of the game until we make a big play on Defense. A huge sack on 4th down, maybe an INT.
We beat A&M last year after losing a close one to UNC and as long as we win the turnover battle, we should be ok.
Trying not to be over confident (like I was vs JMU last year) Cautiously Optimistic here.
27-20 good guys.

If Sloan holds ECU (or any team) to 6 points, give him a lifetime contract.MrCraig wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 9:24 amI'm genuinely curious why some of y'all think this will be a close game? Re: Official Buried treasure prediction thread
I think it will be a close game because I am still hesitant after last season. We didn’t blow anyone out that was higher than FCS level talent (yes including Ga State). ECU has struggled on offense but is that because Michigan and Marshall’s defense is really good or because their offense is really bad? The truth is somewhere in the middle most likely. It is also an in-state game that will have a lot of energy.

Unfortunately, I feel like we win by a field goal at the end of the game. My guess is high scoring game 38 App - 35 ECU.
