Re: ULM
A winning record will get us to a bowl game and most likely another year of the current staff .Next year ,expectations will be much higher and the pay-out less. A win this weekend seems like a must given the schedule that lies before us .

Re: ULM
TO ME 7-5 with a win over Southern and a bowl bid is acceptable. 11-2 would obviously be the best case scenario right now. My prediction- 8-4 with losses to Marshall and JMU.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 1:09 pmCostal, Ga So., Marshall, and So. Miss at home: 3 wins? I'm there too. Those are the two games I'm most concerned about. Georgia St. might be due. So if we split the JMU/Ga St. games...MrCraig wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 4:53 pmTO ME 7-5 with a win over Southern and a bowl bid is acceptable. 11-2 would obviously be the best case scenario right now. Re: ULM
My expectation at the beginning of the season was 8-4 and I wasn’t expecting our defense to improve as much so quickly.
My expectation the rest of the season is to be within a TD or winning at the end of the 4th quarter each game and to win more one score games than we lose.

Re: ULM
We handle ULM, this team is young but growing up fast and learning how to play top notch ball. We aren’t there yet but if anyone can’t see improvement then they don’t know squat about football. We win next week, take it to the bank.

Look at this guy with the measured, balanced take. Are you lost? We don’t want any of that here.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:59 pmMy expectation at the beginning of the season was 8-4 and I wasn’t expecting our defense to improve as much so quickly.

Re: ULM
The real question is who is the best ASU in the country?
We better than- Ark State, Arizona State, Alabama State?
For many on here we tend to be Delusional State U. Since this topic kind of morphed into what would you accept I'll go with expect to go 10-2 now but would not hate 8-4. Anything is possible.

Re: ULM
Im with you on this sort of. The division is loaded, but we have the talent we should have as good of odds as anyone. And if we don’t then it falls on the coaching staff not getting enough out of them, or outright costing us games.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:59 pmMy expectation at the beginning of the season was 8-4 and I wasn’t expecting our defense to improve as much so quickly.

Losing to JMU and Marshall again would be humiliating and cement that we’re no longer top dogs. Answers would need to be given for why App has been removed from that spot by an FCS call up and a C-USA school. And that’s not an answer I’m positive this staff or admin can give.

I'm in the camp of let's circle back at the end of the season and start having those conversations if need be. 8-4 was what I said at the beginning of the year. I am wrong in saying that there's be improvement so far this season?

Re: ULM
Same. At this point last year, most of us had some concerns about the defense, but were riding high on taking UNC to OT, beating A&M, and the Troy Hail Mary. I could go back and find the comments where some people thought last year would be "special." Then the wheels came off. Now, despite having a decent start to the season, folks are convinced we may not win another game.Appmountaineers19 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 7:39 amI'm in the camp of let's circle back at the end of the season and start having those conversations if need be. 8-4 was what I said at the beginning of the year. I really think we might be looking at a 4 game winning streak to lead us up to the Marshall game. Then I think there will be a lot less complaining and calling for firings.

Re: ULM
Same here, ULM is crucial though. Winning begets winning. Having a 4 game win streak going into Marshall at home would be huge for our players’ cohesion and confidence. Coastal may be the best of the 4, but thinking we have some payback to hand out in that game. Anyways, win these next 4 and who knows how good we will be when facing Marshall, JMU, Georgia State and Georgia Southern. That stretch will be a challenge.MrCraig wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 9:50 amSame. Re: ULM
My perception is 5-7 to 7-5. I have lowered expectations. My gut still says we don't make a bowl, no confidence at all in winning the conference. 8 or 9 wins at this point would be a great turnaround from where I think we are right now. I don't like the negative and I do think we have plenty of talent to win out just gut feeling it ain't happening this year.

Re: ULM
Absolutely. AND winning those four games would make us bowl eligible. Obviously, we've got bigger goals in mind than that, but it would be an improvement over last year at the very least.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 10:03 amSame here, ULM is crucial though. Re: ULM
It sounds petty- but I'd like to see us curb stomp a few conference teams to take the sting off of some of these losses. We need some swagger and excitement back in the program. I'm talking 30+ blow outs
