Great game against an opponent we should beat. Score is where it should be. Basically a scrimmage with enough pressure to make us think. I am hopefully for next game against Clemson.

On the production, feel like I remember recently we hired a guy for director of production. Assuming he’s tasked with putting on these broadcasts, and this is his first football season, tough time getting out of the gates for the guy.

I watched both games. I think App is better than the score shows, but I think Clemson might be better than their score too.
I have the same mindset I had against Texas A&M. We CAN win. We MIGHT win. But I’m not expecting us to win. I don’t expect us to get blown out.

Clemson is not good. They got dawg walked today without UGA 1 and 2 RB. Klubnik is trash and their best WR is a 3* that we recruited. We have a chance if we can spread them out and attack the secondary. Running the ball will be tough.

I have the same feelings. Similar to A&M or the South Carolina or UNC games a few years ago.MrCraig wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:18 pmI watched both games. I think App is better than the score shows, but I think Clemson might be better than their score too.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
I'm guessing they are a 2 TD favorite against us? Clemson didn't look good because they played the best team in the land.
And so will stopping Clemson's run. - we have a chance if we can limit their run

Didn’t read many of the post. I was at the game. Not impressed with either line, O or D.

I was at the game today and never really felt like the game was out of our hands. We took a few deep shots but for the most part we won by dink and dunking down the field.

Preach! Def thankful for him and all that he does to try and turn bad into something halfway smooth. I agree with all, it’s always been subpar on tv, but yesterday had to be the worst I’ve seen. Just happy for the dub!CornCobPipes wrote: ↑Sat Aug 31, 2024 5:17 pmAt least we have David Jackson....can never take him for granted.....it could be worse without him.
Hope we got the jitters out as we face the big dogs prime time next week!

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
I am curious how the production works. Are these productions by the school and just feed into ESPN system.
Or ESPN productions with their cameras, etc
If it is App. St production, definitely would be nice to get funding for better cameras, more cameras, etc. I get it. Give more
Just s wish list idea.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
Keep in mind we had a starting DE and starting NT on limited reps yesterday, and Hopper didn't play at all. Add in Kelly missing some snaps after getting dinged and we were getting a bit thin on DL.
OL has four new starters so it'll take a bit of time for them to play as a unit. We still had 500 yards of offense despite doing basically nothing for the 2nd quarter.

Schools do all the production for ESPN+ broadcasts.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 4:09 amI am curious how the production works. Are these productions by the school and just feed into ESPN system.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
I clicked on a couple of other plus games so I assume they are done the same way? Do other schools use their own crews? Liberty had I believe 3 guys on a sideline set. No idea how good or bad their production was. You would think that we would set up cameras way ahead of time, practice a good bit with switching shots, zooming in, etc. It was as if we took student volunteers from the crowd and let them control the cameras.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
I can’t recall but once we hit 38 points how much time was left and how many other times did we have the ball and not really attempt to score? Seems like coach generally always takes his foot off the gas when it’s over. I ask because there has to be teams who are our peers whose coaches use a different approach and basically run up the score. Point being that we probably could have put up at least 45 or even 52 yesterday but only went through part of the playbook.

Re: ETSU Game Thread and discussion
ETSU took a lot of time off on their next possession. Believe we only had the ball on the last possession of the game after scoring the last TD.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 7:23 amI can’t recall but once we hit 38 points how much time was left and how many other times did we have the ball and not really attempt to score? Edit: Just looked it up. They took 7:32 off the clock on that next possession. We got the ball back with like 1:30 left on the clock.
