Not that we don’t deserve some ribbing but uncc fans doing the whole “app fans are unc bb fans” is the spider man pointing at himself meme personified.311neers wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:16 amhttps://x.com/nate0049/status/1837102901409284235?s=42

They are dodging us but I don't see why with our current roster and staff. lolfjblair wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:23 amAbsolutely, we deserve whatever trash talk comes our way.ah59396 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:22 amI mean, we deserve the licks. Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
Those in charge of our program need to decide if they care about winning and excellence anymore. Because if they cared about those things Clark would have been fired a couple years ago. Sad to see them be okay with mediocre seasons, and now we see the result of that.yosef69 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 8:16 pmHow do we fix it?appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:58 pmYeah. Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
I agree with your take on the buyout for two reasons. One the money and two I don't see anyone capable of doing any better. I mean if this the best they can do as a coordinator how will they be any better as head. Yes November did happen but it is hard to see it now. Thanks for a straight answer.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 9:32 amWe did not see November happening last year and it happened. I understand frustration but we should only make a move in-season if we see what we saw against South Alabama the next few weeks. The buyout drops in December and recruiting will take a hit either way.

If you are going to fire Clark, do it now. If this is how he prepares a team on the hot seat, can you imagine him as a lame duck?

A lot of App fans deserve what they get. Many walk around with an arrogant attitude and talk a lot of crap about other programs- UNC, Charlotte, Wake, etc. Many carry that mantra of any team any time. That’s all great but once we get some humble pie served to us that crap talk comes back.

That... seems unnecessary? I'm not arguing with you, obviously, but that explanation doesn't make me think it's worth the investment. Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
I think the point he's trying to make is that the current coaching staff is not good at navigating the college football landscape. They don't take advantage of the portal much, they don't seem to try to leverage NIL, etc.blunderbuss wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 11:15 amECU fan here. We suck... just to go ahead and get that out of the way.appstatealum wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 7:58 pmYeah. Hard to say some of us weren't concerned this was coming. Anyway, how is this relevant when playing other G5's? They've got the exact same challenges. We aren't competing against the P5. I only ask b/c I read the same types of takes on ECU boards and I don't disagree w/ it. At ECU our #1 problem is we still haven't recovered from the cultural rot of the past coach and administration. Right now we have an AD that just "isn't the last guy" and a HC who hates offense and blames players. It's a damn mess but none of it has anything to do w/ NIL or the portal. It's 99% self inflicted.
It's a problem everyone has, but some teams are doing a good job solving it. App doesn't seem to be.

In looking at our offense I am not so sure of that.GreatAppSt wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:16 amLetting go now IMHO would send a positive message to any potential coach candidates that we will not accept mediocrity. Shawn has overstayed because of a longer lead for an Alum but it needs to be over. My perspective is the season will not be worse if Ponce takes over while we shop. The message needs to be sent that the HC job at App State is a produce or move on position period. Doug Gillen should have been up in the booth with his best sales pitch convincing Dan Mullin to come be the next Jerry Moore for App anything but what we have.
Sorry for the rant

This time yesterday, his seat wasn't hot. Not even warm. It may have even been a barstool in an ice bar. Today, it might be in the middle of the foundry.appgrad95&97 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 12:23 pmIf you are going to fire Clark, do it now. Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
That is the issue. The fact it wasn't warm at all after 5 years of not winning a single thing. That is the Appalachian winning standard dropping. Re: Worst I’ve ever seen
That was rough. I’ve never seen that many people leaving at halftime. I know it being a Thursday night people needed to get back home because of work next day(myself included), but it would have happened on a Saturday. I’ve never left a game with 4 minutes left in the 3rd like I did last night.
This program has to figure this out and figure it out quickly. There appears to be very few that are proud of the A they wear. I understand times are different, but if we do not adapt, we will become a program of the past.
I really wanted Shawn to succeed, but if you love App as much as you say, you step down and move on. How is it that every freaking game we come out flat? We look uninterested and commit stupid costly penalties. We can’t keep having these slow starts and then pick it up later in season.
Something has to change and it needs to start at the top.

We must be using it wrong. I’m not joking when I say USA’s QB could have and pretty much did run over everyone on our defense. We are not a physical team and we haven’t been for years.hapapp wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 2:09 pmActually, there is pretty frequent usage of it in athletics.MrCraig wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 12:27 pmThat... seems unnecessary?
