Here is the thing. We don't know who was interviewed. We don't know interviewed poorly. We don't know who interviewed well but wasn't interested once they saw the resources. The only person that can answer that is Doug. To draw a conclusion that it's a bad hire is unreasonable.

Sadly, right now I would be much happier with his choice of Tre Lamb.

Yeah man, just browsing around the various forums and taking a peek at Reddit we're getting roasted pretty bad. A lot of WTF reactions.

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
The biggest takeaway from this is "told us the ugly truth" followed by "we are here to dominate". This program and fan base has gotten complacent with "being relevant" and not beating the doors off the teams we should and beating P5s consistently. We should be in playoff conversations, not living off of our Michigan win from 18 years ago. If he came in and said "the college football landscape App was once relevant in is now dead and here is how we carve out a new niche...." then I'm all in. His lack of success in an old CFB world doesn't mean sh*t to me if he knows how to be successful in the new semi-pro CFB world. Time will tell.

I wasn't sold on Lamb after contemplating it for the last 2 months. He'd have gave me more anxiety than Kenny Loggins is

So we nickname the guy Coach Danger zone! Will be fitting either way it goes.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 7:16 pmI wasn't sold on Lamb after contemplating it for the last 2 months. He'd have gave me more anxiety than Kenny Loggins is

I'd say we'd been living haughty off College Gameday and beating Texas A&M two years ago. Ignoring that we blew a 28-3 lead the following week to a brand new FBS team.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 7:14 pmThe biggest takeaway from this is "told us the ugly truth" followed by "we are here to dominate". I long for the days of hands on butts for short yardage plays.

I like the fact that SC had the 3rd best rushing offense in the SEC this year….
Don’t know enough about him yet but that is something I can get behind

Calling it a night guys!
It’s been fun, glad we have a new coach. Since he hasn’t coached a single game at App yet, I’ll withhold judgment until he does.
Look forward to the coming weeks and portal action.

It’s time to rally around Coach Loggains. Can’t wait to see him build out his staff. DC pick is huge. Also curious to see if he calls his own plays or brings in an OC.
Get some of our best guys back and…
Hit. The. Portal. Now.
GO APPS!!

Re: Realistic coaching options for 2025...
If I’m not mistaken, his OC stints in the NFL ended due to the HC getting fired. Not he himself. Meanwhile, what he’s done in college is develop 2 QBs into really good players and has a more than formidable offense for one of the hottest teams in the country. I get it’s not a sexy name but you guys are gonna hurt yourself reaching so far.HurricaneYosef wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 5:26 pmExplains why he keeps getting hired after being fired for performance
Interviews well

uncc gets a better hire than us. I just puked in my mouth typing that.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 6:50 pmHis son was pretty good too.
I guess I’ll try and be cautiously optimistic.
Dg does have a good track record. It looks like uncc is going to get Albin out of Ohio. Has 3 10 win seasons in the MAC recently (and best south Alabama while holding them to 20 pts this year) mac champion and coach of the year. That’s the kind of resume I was hoping for

Yeah given their allergy to hiring actual football coaches it’s hard to look at what they got vs what we got and say we got the better guy.bcoach wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2024 9:57 pmuncc gets a better hire than us. Only hoping that DG picked the right one again
