I am feeling 1,000 times better after that! I am ready to see how the Loggains era plays out. I was ready to plow through my screen when he said " We Should Have Been Playing Last Saturday"! I truly believe the dude has done homework for awhile on App St and is excited and wants to be here.

Poor question from the one media guy..how long do you expect to be here....let the freaking guy meet his players and put together a staff....and find a home to rent or buy...geez
Not a Coulson fan for other reasons, but reporters sometimes ask seemingly dumb questions to get great answers. Dowell gave a great answer. It's not about the reporter trying to sound smart like others do just to get crap answers.
Agreed. He had a great answer...

I 'm glad he didn't come across as a speaker of a prepared speech at the beginning. I was even more keyed up when he briefly spoke without the notes and responded to questions as a coach.
He wasn't hired to be an orator! I believe he was hired to be the coach of a championship team.
If he follows through with what I heard after the intro time, the latter of championship team coach will be accomplished.

All I needed to hear:

“We should have been playing this last weekend.”

Dead. On. I don’t care how tough the Sun Belt got. Hoping to be competitive in the division or getting in the championship on a technicality ain’t it.
He's right on two counts as well. App should be vying for the Sun Belt title every year, and this year should've been an easy road because the Sun Belt was so weak. I mean, GA Southern was one Marshall loss away from going to the 'ship, and they were the definition of mediocre this year.

I hope Kilgore or someone has already introduced Loggains to coach Moore. It has been wonderful to see Coach Moore involved with the team and game day again the past few years and I hope he will continue to be involved as long as he is able.

He mentioned that he could have made a lot more money at South Carolina so it sounds like he took a pay cut. It also tells me he really wants to be here with the hope of moving up one day to a big pay check. I’m good with that.

He was nervous when he was trying to give his formal written speech but when he started speaking from the heart he nailed it and won me over. Love this guy!!

Actually, I think that is a great question, because that is what I wanted to know.

Maybe So Car offered him a raise to stay? We were paying Clark $975k this year, I surmised we would need to be ~$1.3-$1.4MM to be competitive on salary.

I think I heard he was making $1.3MM at So Car.

Guess we will see when the contract is FOIA'd

Heavily incentivized contract. Performance gets paid.

Hmm, so you think a coach, who has not been on the job for less than a week, is going to give you an answer that is reality....that is comical....the guy is still trying to figure out where the bathroom is located....

I did like his answer. I think he understands that if you do not know something you need to ask somebody.

at first I got a little Matt Rhule vibe, but I liked what he said. Most important thing is he understands the need to win here

My understanding is that Loggains came to the interview having viewed much of our game tape and evaluated our roster, and had a specific plan to move us forward. I like that attention to detail. Anxious to hear him today.
I do believe that is one thing we were missing is the attention to detail. That shows up in penalties, turn overs and execution

Loggains mentioned Carry Collins asking about doing a QB clinic in Boone. You know sometimes we look at Boone as something we have to overcome, small out of the way town. But it struck me that we could use Boone. Boone is in a resort area. Spring and summer are more than beautiful and there are world class restaurants and resorts in the area. We could partner with some of these resorts and tell a guy like Carry Collins, hey bring your family up for a week or two and do a clinic and stay for free at Chetola or Echota. Just spitballing.
