I do not remember him saying that. Chopped BBQ is superior to Pulled BBQ, heck, even sliced is better than pulled if it is sliced right.

Just watched introduction press conference. The guys got passion and fired up coming in. Hoping for the best. He doesn't stutter or minch words. Will be a good ambassador if nothing else.

When did pulled pork even become a thing? I've eaten a lot of BBQ and I don't remember hearing pulled pork until 15-20 years ago. When I was growing up it was chopped, minced, or sliced. Either way, it's better when a cleaver has touched it.

Like you I grew up on for lack of a better term chopped BBQ. I think you’re right pulled seems to have started in our area about 20 years ago. But man there is nothing better than a hunk of pulled pork with about a quarter inch of bark on it.goapps93 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:02 pmWhen did pulled pork even become a thing? Hit it a couple times with that cleaver and the bark will be in every bite.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:18 pmLike you I grew up on for lack of a better term chopped BBQ. I just find chopped BBQ is easier to eat than pulled and a lot less messy to eat in a sandwich. Also, it does not get stuck in your teeth like pulled does.

Not to derail this thread
But coach gives a pretty good interview on the Black & Gold podcast. Really love his energy. Sounds like he’s got some things cooking.

The last two-thirds of the interview were good. The first couple of questions had a strange tone from AJ, like a woman scorned.
DL sounds busy and he comes off as a grinder!
He mentioned adopting his scheme to the personnel available, which is great to hear. I would cation however that SC fans claim he didn't use Sellers strengths until the second half of the season. I didn't watch enough of their games to debate them (nor want to as they aren't the most rational group).

Re: Dowell Loggains
I listen an interview where Loggains talked about Sellers injury slowing down his progress early, but then he really hit his stride midseason. That would make sense given he was a RS Freshman. We'll find out first hand in about 9 months.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 1:12 pmThe last two-thirds of the interview were good. Re: Dowell Loggains
There was a place in Greensboro selling pulled pork in the early 90s that I went to a few times while in HS, but it went out of business relatively quickly if I recall. I remember at the time thinking it was good but a bit odd. Now I prefer pulled to chopped. But I also like brisket most of all, so what do I know.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 12:18 pmLike you I grew up on for lack of a better term chopped BBQ. Where in Greensboro? I was at WG then and remember Stamey’s and a place on Market or Wendover. Location might jog my mind.AppfaninCAALand wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 5:08 pmThere was a place in Greensboro selling pulled pork in the early 90s that I went to a few times while in HS, but it went out of business relatively quickly if I recall.
