He did delete the commitment to UTSA post.
“Opened recruitment”. Hours after the Arnett hiring. Interesting. Bring em all back.

I'm also still not sure about bringing everyone back as bad as the D was. We'll see.

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
We just need some competition with the LB’s and another year of experience in the secondary. Biggest key IMO is to get a stud Mike backer (assuming we beef up the DL some)
I doubt Nate and Hopper return but we’ve seen TD, Collins, and maybe Donald come back. Those are nice pieces to work with.

Seems like another year of replacing our entire OL, or pretty much all of it.

I thought he would go P4, this surprises me. Do they have that much greater NIL than we do?

Yeah from the things I listen to it sounds like Tulane has maybe the most financial resources at the G5 level at this point. Which I think is why Sumrall passed on what seems like multiple P4 jobs to wait for the one he wants.

Just heard on the radio that Sacramento State is going to have $50 million in NIL money next year.

That $50m is only if they get invited to the PAC 12. They are also building a new stadium. They must have a few rich tech executive alumni who love football.

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
I am curious about these types of gestures. Are they one year commitment so you have to manage money for Long term or you decide to go all in, make it rain, and be good for a few years until the money runs dry...or is expectations you are getting that type of commitment every 4 to 5 years. I assume the former. Will be interesting to see how schools manage that or has the donor putting restrictions on it in terms of time to be used.
If you want long term scenario but less dollars in a particular year, you just nil the realized gains from the investment...

Re: App Transfer Portal 2025 - OUT
If a FCS school has that type of potential resources at their disposal, wtf are they still doing in FCS? They could dominate the Mountain West Conference with that type of NIL and stand a good chance of making the playoff as G5 representative. Boise made it this year, but had UNLV beaten them in the championship game they would have gone. Makes no sense why they would be on the sidelines with those type of potential NIL resources.ASUFan4863 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 1:32 pmThat $50m is only if they get invited to the PAC 12. The same reason many schools do not have football some benefactor does not want you to have it so you do not have it.t4pizza wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 2:25 pmIf a FCS school has that type of potential resources at their disposal, wtf are they still doing in FCS? I thought Avarion Cole’s incredibly stupid penalty in the Georgia Southern game was partly because Santana Hopper was losing his mind at the same time. That kind of behavior is infectious.

I was behind the bench at the Coastal game and he kept mouthing off to the Coastal fans even though we were losing. It was embarrassing.
