Makia signed with Indiana today. He’s gone.

I dislike Cig. Hope they play a SOS above 50 and get back to 7-5.

Is it baseball season yet? College football is toast.

Sorry that thinking a reel where a player announced he's going to play another season while wearing App State gear meant he was going to play for App State.

First of all I would like to thank my teammates who I love more than anything, well other than money. To those not good enough to cash in on this scheme , well , maybe next time. To my coaches , Most of you got canned but I was going to the highest bidder anyway. Finally to the YOSEF Club members who paid my tuition and fees through their hard earned contributions , don’t worry others will follow behind me to Boone , until they get a better offer.

We need to disengage until the dust settles and we have coaches and players who want to be here.
Forgot about loyalty on anyone's side.
We need faith in DG and DL

Everyone is just passing through. Especially in the current environment.

What’s to keep Makai from leaving IU for another higher bidder?

Probably a lack of better offers. Good player, but IU is historically the worst P5 program in the country. Most career losses as a program. They’re just riding a high right now and cashing in on some good players.

This excerpt should be copy and pasted on every player’s TP post moving forward sans the grad transfers. Cut through the BS with truth.

I'm about done with college football and basketball, two sports I loved above all until recently. At this point I only give to secure parking and seats. My family spends a lot of time and money going to App games, but it wouldn't be hard to justify spending that time and money in other areas.

I was thinking today that the only loyalty left in college athletics lies with the fans of each school, but those folks are being asked to pay more and more to support all the people that no longer have loyalty for the fans or school. Seems like a model that can't sustain itself.

That is exactly how it is! This is why I don’t get emotionally attached at all anymore. It is also why I don’t give to NIL. Many players will just bolt for a P4 the first chance they get so no reason to give money to a player who won’t stay 4 years and graduate!

What is sad is that because they are like this I think the way to sum it up is they only care about the name on their jersey and not the logo while I only care about the logo and the name is interchangeable to me.

Time to have players unionize and have contracts with buyouts. We should get something when they bolt like this.

The universities are sitting back and letting the reputations they build be destroyed. Think of all the effort from all the people it took to build the App. Football brand and it going to become crap. Think of all the sacrifices from former players and coaches, all gone. It took a while for me to see this but the universities can control this. And don’t think fans from the SEC schools aren’t feeling the same way. If the big boy schools want to save their brands and college football they need to do two things. One, refuse to be involved in NIL. Simply tell players they are offering a chance to play for the brand that Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, etc have build and if they can turn that into an NIL deal well good for them. But the coaches and the Universities will not be involved. This alone would end a lot of the portal madness. No coaches saying hey kid I can get you money. Second, show much needed restraint in the portal. I’m not saying no transfers but put the mind set back 5 years and only take kids who are transferring for more than money. But for the life of me I can’t understand why these universities are so willing to let their brands be destroyed. And yes they are being destroyed. I went 15 years without missing a home game at App.. If there was a game next week I’m not sure I would make the trip.
