People complaining about Arnholt. I understand it. He’s a decent backup and I hope Willis starts above him. However, if he’s better than everyone we are cutting loose, what does that tell you?

He absolutely is not better.

I'm hoping it was an issue with his position coach not communicating and teaching properly. That or he's the best of a bad group and only has a year left so not a big deal to keep him.

Let’s not forget, last season’s defense was one of the worst App has had in a long long time. For sure in the FBS era. Is it any surprise that there are wholesale changes occurring?

The problems were either players, coaching or both. Looks like a lot of both. We replaced the coaches. Once the new coaches got a real view of the action on the field they realized what had to be done.

That's roughly 35 gone. College football is toast. Spend your money wisely!

We all saw how bad things were here last year. We had a player feloniously assault another player and yet we heard zero about it...swept under the rug. The defense was a joke. We can candy coat it all we want but it is what it is. The coaching staff got an overhaul and now it looks like the defense is getting a complete overhaul. Ripping that Band-Aid off sometimes hurts. In years past it would take years for all of this to play out but in todays world we hit fast-forward and it can happen in months and sometimes weeks.

Exactly. This needed to happen. People overlook the crazy stuff that was covered up with the prior staff. I wish we had some major media in the state who would have covered it all. We were lucky we had very little media coverage so that did not make the headline news. If we were Georgia it would have been headline news all week lol.

Not sure if this is for me or not but I think some***, not most of these were good players. Some of these were never going to play. I mean Sowell was like 250lbs.
And Baret was a late add. Estep. Lenhart, Barbrey...etc.

I still think Gooch Farrar McKinnis and Haynes were good linebackers but injuries got to them. And Nick Taylor. The rest never got a chance or weren't good. Or was it lack of development from coaching?
