I would think Gillin is being proactive and will update his list of names to inquire about yearly. Can't sit back and think you got 2-3 years anymore. Drink only stayed one year and that quick of an exit could happen again at any time. I doubt it does this year but always better to be prepared.
We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
Basketball yes, football can't be turned around as quickly. The G5 winner each year will likely have momentum from the prior year and successfully hold on a portion of their talent into the championship year.

Some talent will follow the coaches, take Indiana last year from JMU and USM from Marshall this year.

Re: Roster/Staff Updates
In this day and age, how feasible is it that an incoming coach intends to move up quickly and recruits kids he can take with him if/when he leaves for a P4?
Granted, I don’t have a lot of faith in any coaches ability to catch lightning in a bottle during year one at a school. But who knows what could happen?

In this new environment we may need to find a word other than Committed to describe to describe a players intentions.

Think that ship sailed 15-20 years ago. Football "commitments" were more like reservations well before NIL.

That is exactly how it is. It is why when they leave us I don't get concerned or worry about how they do. 90% of these players don't love App like we do. They will drop us for an SEC, Big Ten, or ACC offer in a second and even drop us for Tulane and a couple other G5s.

We had a lot of FCS/D2 guys on our roster. We’ve had way more guys stepping down than we do stepping up in competition.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 9:11 amThat is exactly how it is. Re: Roster/Staff Updates
I know the answer that I’m going to get from some on here and this isn’t directed at you directly. But how much of that is a product of the trickle down? Far more P4 players go down than G5 go up. So is it a talent issue or an option issue.311neers wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 10:49 amWe had a lot of FCS/D2 guys on our roster.
