The constant Ferrari and Lamborghini references to those teams get a bit overused in my opinion. We had a really good roster but we had to hold on against and average UNC team and also against a bad USC squad who also nearly caught the game winner at the back of the end zone. Not to say we weren’t legit top 25 but some seem to think we had some P4 level team.

That’s because Drink went into super conservative mode and tried to shorten the game. UNC could have easily been a two TD win, but he did everything he could to just get us across the finish line with the lead.

We did have a JUCO commit today. I can't post an updated profile for him as Coffeyville CC is not listed in the interest/commit area of the 247 database. I did build him a 2023 profile for Sumter HS and I'll add him to our commit listing as soon as I can.

Not everyone brought in is intended to play this fall. Most of the guys we cut were young so some of the action this spring is backfilling those spots with better talent for the future. However, a few should make an impact. For example:

Manuel was a Freshman All-American (the same recognition given to Hopper and Johnson last year by the way). Willis is a 3x all-conference player and 2x All-American. Berry is a 2x all-conference player. Cummins is a former rotational and spot starter in the SEC and ACC. Sandstorm is a former starter as a RS Freshman. Ahmad Robinson is a former starter with experience in the SBC.

I think that Joey helped the perception of our school with QBs. These guys saw that Joey came here from a junior college, balled out, then got paid by UCLA/TN. If we are going to be a stepping stone, I want to be the most sought after stepping stone in FBS.
