Serious question. With the portal can you really tell players and coaches that with any certainty? We talk on here all the time about how nothing is guaranteed and no reason to look past this fall because any standout could easily be gone. If our starter is really good there is a good chance he will leave in December. I don't know if he is telling HS coaches and players but I would think he has reason not to. I would not being hyping any players to anyone in the business out of worry it might tip them off to focus on the player and tell their NIL agent buddies or a connection at their alma mater. I would be as secretive as possible out of fear that a player would get poached.311neers wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 7:29 amThey’ve got their guy. They’ve told coaches on the trail who the leader is. However, I do have a gut feeling, and many of you know that I often struggle to articulate my insight. I believe—trying not to wear my Black and Gold-colored glasses— this about our team this year, that App State's football program has created a unique coaching staff that resembles Frankenstein's Monster. We, along with the entire Group of Five (G5), have never seen such a remarkable assembly of coaches and advisors as we have now. Yet, unlike Frankenstein's creation, our MONSTER is guided by a brilliant mind—Coach. Have any of you talked to him for more than two minutes? He possesses the intellect we've needed for a long time!
Next, have you been following the roster countdown? We can toss aside the old label of being small but fast. Hopefully, we're now both BIG and ........=FAST, the likes of which the SBC or G5 has never seen under one roof.
My instinct, echoed by many of you who have shared similar gut feelings over the years, is that we are on the verge of another unveiling like we had in 2018. When we all realized, "Wow, we have a quarterback" (Zach), though it might take until the second game (CCC) for that "wow" moment to hit this time. I feel it approaching! I could be wrong, some of my past expectations haven’t materialized, but I sense that I am onto something this time.
Will it all Gel??? Who knows. But i think in the now era gel is not the big stick it used to be as all teams because of NIL n' TP are patchwork parts put together yearly.

Just saying.
They need to change it to -28!! We got a great QB1 and QB2 and our WRs overall will be the best in the Sunbelt. Oh...we got great RBs too. The "D"???? who knows. If the defense can play well, we beat them like a drum. Just my opinion and how I feel.

This post conjures an interesting scenario. Given the chance, will Loggains be the type of coach to take the foot off the throat or apply more pressure.asumba95 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 10:14 amI'll take UNCC +28 ADLAppState89 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 10, 2025 12:44 pmApp State -8.5 vs Charlotte

Just my guess, but I would guess Loggains and the players would want to send a message if given that opportunity.

I would just hope that decision is one that has to be made instead of a close game or losing. That goes for the first 2 weeks.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 10:33 amThis post conjures an interesting scenario. Re: QB1 battle?
If that happens (and we all hope it does), I can’t see a new HC letting off the gas. Especially a guy like Loggains… plus, he’s got a reputation to build.

Kohl is QB1 on NCAA 26 in dynasty mode. When in Play now it seems Swann is QB1.

Re: QB1 battle?
Although it's painful to watch, I do not want a team to let off the gas on App. St. as we need to see the warts....and I do not want App. St. to let off the gas against an opponent. If one is having a magical season and another school in another conference is too, people who vote look at these things.

Re: QB1 battle?
I think it is an insult to the losing team when the other team takes their foot off the gas. So no don’t insult the loser if you are up big. Respect your opponent and beat the crap out of them until late in 4th qtr.

Re: QB1 battle?
You may be right, but in the Loggains interview with 247 he went to pretty great length to say that there isn’t a QB1 yet. Said multiple times that none of the guys consistently separated themselves from the others. Obviously could be a cat and mouse game, but feels like he wants someone to take the reins in the first week or so of camp.311neers wrote: ↑Sat Jul 12, 2025 7:29 amThey’ve got their guy. I imagine even if privately they know where they are going he’s going to publicly say it’s still open so opponents mainly uncc prepare for bothYosef10 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 8:40 amYou may be right, but in the Loggains interview with 247 he went to pretty great length to say that there isn’t a QB1 yet. Ware and mostly everyone, are not on the “need to know” list. Loggains may be in his first HC gig but it’s not his first rodeo when it comes to the QB or media.

Re: QB1 battle?
And I allowed for that fact in my comment, but again, Loggains sounded pretty adamant that no one had taken the job. Not exactly far fetched idea considering both of the guys who we think are competing for it had only been here for a spring at this point.
