Ugly - turnovers and penalties - however, most of those can be improved/eliminated and it would make a big difference in the overall performance of this team, possibly difference in W vs L. Will we? I don't know but these CAN be fixed. This is one area that I know we can fix with the talent we have now and it would directly yield some positive results regardless of anything else.
OL and DL - not good at all and this is root of a lot of the results. We have had a bad OL for last few years. If anyone wants tangible evidence look at our team with Joey last year vs Joey this year. Big difference with his OL performance makes the QB look way better. Now think about Swann trying to play behind our OL. It doesn't look good at all. DL does not give any consistent pressure on opposing QB. DBs are not covering well. Can these players improve throughout year? Maybe but maybe not. That will be a direct correlation to how we win or lose.

IMHO, the trenches need improvement. However, the two INTs on Saturday were not due to pressure on QB.

We have the talent to beat everyone left on our schedule. We will not win if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot, leg, and head with all these mistakes. The problem with that is those hoping for change are likely to be let down because we are definitely in the point of a season where we are who we are on that front.

And it may not be this year! Look at Mississippi State. They hired a new coach and went 2-10 last year. This year, they are 4-1 with a ranked win against Arizona State, and their only loss in overtime to Tennessee. They will almost certainly be bowl eligible, and I wouldn't be surprised if they knock off a ranked SEC team or two. Just gotta be patient for now and try to enjoy the ride.BUTCH1991 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 10:12 amI'm with you, hoping it's similar to 2014 when it took us to midseason to get it together, except we have bowl eligibility this year.MrCraig wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 8:07 amI know this is tongue-in-cheek, and there are certain goals that have passed us by, but this season COULD still be somewhat successful. App has only played one conference game, and zero games against the SBC East. The conference is looking pretty weak this year, so IF (big IF) App can get it together, a decent season with a bowl game isn't out of the question.Black Saturday wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 7:02 pmThe great thing is, all of our goals are still in front of us

miss state has Florida and Arkansas that could be wins. The rest of the schedule is tough.MrCraig wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 12:30 pmAnd it may not be this year! Look at Mississippi State. We shall see if they are better than in the past. I hope so. I like seeing a variety of trans doing well.
