Re: Coastal - 3:30pm - Discussion
High school recruits get ratings (some ridiculous and some spot on), teams get rated on recruiting classes (also some subjective and some fairly accurate). Is there some rating system for the portal players? Are we getting a lot of guys who simply aren’t division one level? We seem to find plenty of skill guys and in my opinion there are tons of them out there. Defensively not so much.

Nothing fancy by CCU on offense - they just ran thru the defense. Seems tackling is getting worse as the year goes on. With the QB - he might not be the issue as his stats say - however, he is throwing short passes and staring down receivers. At some point - he has to go down the field.

He went down field on several occasions against OSU and GaG St.. He threw to receivers today based upon the plays called by the OCYosef1986 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 7:08 pmNothing fancy by CCU on offense - they just ran thru the defense. I thought maybe we had found something. This was the exact feeling of the last five years.

I think some of y'all need to go locate your rooftop, climb to top, and just go ahead and jump off. Some of the comments are hilarious..

I was going to post a mental health hotline for them.BambooRdApp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 7:22 pmI think some of y'all need to go locate your rooftop, climb to top, and just go ahead and jump off. Some of the comments are hilarious..

Everything was smooth up until about 2 min before half-time on offense. Defense was rough, and for the life of me I can never explain this, but rivalry games (throw records out the door) always turn into one of two things - nobody can score and defensive stand, or you can’t stop anything and offensive showdown. Losing the starting left tackle, right guard, and Dubinion not healthy hurt. I feel for Loggains going into this next week - a lot to compensate for. I am assuming the drop from 1st string to 2nd in those positions is pretty big. It was painful watching CCU do nothing on offense and still move the ball.

Re: Coastal - 3:30pm - Discussion
tonight was a tough pill to swallow. i still like our offense. we can move the ball and score when we need to. our off line is beatup. truth is we have beaten 4 awful teams and at the very least we are not one of those 4 awful teams. i was worried about this game just due to the fact coastal has had our number the last 4 outings. our defense still has a long ways to go....and unlike a lot of our posters...i do not believe we have bad coaches. we have 50 plus new players...tons of new starters....a new coaching staff...this year we could end up 4-8 or maybe find 2 to 3 more wins...our home slate going forward is winnable. ODU and JMU...those are the only ones i just dont see us having a real shot in. i'm just hoping and praying by next year and especially year 3 with loggains that we truly turn this thing around.

We just aren’t good. It’s really that simple. Every team we’ve beat is terrible. Any team with a pulse we’ve played, we’ve lost to.
Two of our four wins are against programs arguably not among the top 200 teams in the country.
Here’s a fun stat. Our four wins - UNCC, Lindenwood, Oregon State, Ga State, as of this moment are a combined 0-19 versus FBS competition.

This is true . Our defense couldn’t stop a really good high school team. I was in utter disbelief watching our defense today . Putridah59396 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 7:38 pmWe just aren’t good. We this, we that. They own us right now. Plain and simple. Until we decide we’re going to value this game as much as they do, we’ll continue to lose it. It’s their Super Bowl and rightfully so. For some reason they come for blood every year and we aren’t ready.
Now, everyone who disagrees, give me a stupid lecture on how our rivals are only southern, JMU and Marshall. Times have evolved, they should be fueling Southern levels of hate in this fanbase.

This team can’t take anyone lightly. It’s a poorly assembled group. I know portal and nil affects all that but this team is not good and really not enjoyable to watch. Effort isn’t there but the mistakes are.

We scored TD’s on our first three offensive possessions and didn’t reach the end zone again offensively.
We stopped them their first possession of the second half, then gave us 4 straight TD drives.
We had two chances to win the game and kicked a FG and went 4 and out, and still has a chance to tie.
We had a 6’7” QB who had 7 or 8 balls batted down or knocked out of his hand.
Coastal wanted it more than we did, but our coaches also had no answers after the midpoint of the second quarter.

They were flat out better than us up front. There isn’t a coaching answer when this is the case.Game starts and stops in the trenches. Until we recruit and develop the best OL/DL of the conference, will continue to be .500WASU 93 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 18, 2025 8:06 pmWe scored TD’s on our first three offensive possessions and didn’t reach the end zone again offensively.
