Re: ODU Discussion
So now if a player gets cut mid season for violating team rules or for disciplinary reasons can he immediately “transfer” to and play for another school? If that’s the case what’s to keep a really good player from simply doing something to get booted just so he can move on or up (so to speak) to a better or higher paying gig?

Re: ODU Discussion
Not sure how they would be considered in good academic standing with the previous university (app St) as leaving mid semester and new school as well. For example, what classes begin on 10/22.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 22, 2025 6:04 amSo now if a player gets cut mid season for violating team rules or for disciplinary reasons can he immediately “transfer” to and play for another school? I get it that it seems academics are secondary these days. However, I would think university policies would apply.

Re: ODU Discussion
I don’t think this is possible. A player can choose to sit out before playing a 5th game to preserve a redshirt, but that’s about it. Sure someone will try it, but that would likely negate any NIL payments at the current school.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 22, 2025 6:04 amSo now if a player gets cut mid season for violating team rules or for disciplinary reasons can he immediately “transfer” to and play for another school? I’ll add the integrity piece to the equation, most schools would not likely entertain someone that would be that selfish.

Re: ODU Discussion
One thing that gives me hope is that JMU’s offense has struggled this season but put up 63 on ODU. Marshall also destroyed ODU’s defense. We have a pretty good offense 80% of the time, so maybe we have a shot to win this in a shootout.

Re: ODU Discussion
Players aren't allowed to enter the portal until the official window in December, after the season is over. The only exceptions I found were for graduate transfers- who can transfer whenever, and players get a 30 day transfer window after any type of coaching change.Bigdaddyg1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 22, 2025 6:04 amSo now if a player gets cut mid season for violating team rules or for disciplinary reasons can he immediately “transfer” to and play for another school? I'd assume these fellas getting cut will probably have the rest of their semester covered by scholarship, and then they'll have to either enter the portal, start paying for their college themselves, or head back home.

Re: ODU Discussion
The good news, ESPNU covering so maybe a decent camera angle and more cameras. Also, hopefully better (Neutral) announcers. We shall see. I still will probably listen to our radio guys synced up with the tv.

Re: ODU Discussion
I just watched the ODU/JMU game highlights..... While ODU is good and should whip us, that JMU team... wow. They look good. Also, it looks like we aren't the only ones getting crap refs.
