Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14
7 All Sun Belt players from this class including an 8th who played in the NFL.
Those in the class that were 5th year Seniors got to experience at least a share of the Sun Belt Conference Championship in the final 3 of their years playing. Heck of an accomplishment.
If anyone has insight on guys who I could not find info on, please share. Thanks!

Was Stringer the one that plowed through the Tennessee QB which should have been a game winning tackle but the fumble went through one of our guy's legs into a Tennessee player's hands for a TD?

Great Analysis CoachRob. Thanks for the effort. This would be very nice to have a yearly rundown since 2014 to present to see what really were the results of each recruiting class. As many have said before, the only true way to analyze a recruiting class is in a historical perspective.

I was just curious, so I looked at the recruiting classes of 20, 21, and 22 and you can see where the decline started. Now, the class of 23 was really good, but only Colton Phares remains on the roster from that class.

I think that was Kenan Gilchrist. Know it wasn’t Stringer.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 10:45 amWas Stringer the one that plowed through the Tennessee QB which should have been a game winning tackle but the fumble went through one of our guy's legs into a Tennessee player's hands for a TD?

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14
Chandler Greer was just named the head football coach at AC Reynolds HS in Asheville.
Meadors was a difference maker. Burning his redshirt halfway through 2014 was the right decision. Opened up the offense more and led to upticks for all WRs, including Malachi Jones, Bobo Beathard and Simms McElFresh.
Even though we brought in some great players in 2014-2016, the 2012 and 2013 classes with Satterfield recruiting while still in FCS were the backbone of those 2014 and 2015 teams.

Re: App State Recruiting Rewind Class of 14
This is excellent stuff! Could you summarize the classes going forward:
- Number of recruits
- Number of players that played
- Starters
- All Conference
Would be interesting to see what percentage of each class achieved those levels.

This class I would argue is the backbone to the 1st 3 Sun Belt Championships starting in '16.T-Dog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 14, 2026 2:06 pmChandler Greer was just named the head football coach at AC Reynolds HS in Asheville.

Yes, I'm planning on it time permitting. Was going to do more with this class today but got busy. I'll try to add some for tomorrow.
