I think numbers-wise, we aren’t far off from the tally on last year’s roster. I am surprised that we haven’t signed a player classified as “edge” in the portal yet.
One thing to consider, is that the staff could view some incoming freshman as better than what we can afford to pay in the portal. Most of the signees will be here for spring ball so it is possible to still add players after spring if they have already entered the portal.
Too your point, 3 of our top 8 ranked recruits are Edge Rushers. Our top rated Edge, Manny Lewis from Marvin Ridge, had several P4 offers (have no idea if committable offers).
