Interesting...

I wonder how many topics and posts we'd have by now if we had lost today? Here it is, almost 10 pm and not one topic about today's win! Have we become just a bitch and moan board?

I was pretty happy to see several things today:

Even though we gave up a ton of yards and Mr. Millette (sp?) put up some numbers, the defense came up with several big plays that kept us in the game until the offense started to click.

3 Eloan trips inside the red zone in the first half in which they came away with a total of 3 points.

The play calling is a lot more fun and creative than we have seen in 3 or 4 years. Certainly light years ahead of the horrors of last season.

They doubled up on Price today and minimized his touches, but the rest of the receivers stepped up and got the job done.

MILLER!

I don't usually post much right after any game since I have a two hour drive home after the game. I did see some things that were encouraging.

Decent containment of Mallette.
Better O-line blocking for Miller in the second half
Nice interceptions by Lott and McCray
Good running from Jackson
Snaps under center
Decent mix of offensive plays
Clutch 4th down conversion

Things that I saw that still worry me a bit:
Elon D getting into our backfield too quickly
Chisolm not quite able to break out - could easily be the hand and its impact on timing
Drew Stewart - lack of height on kicks will get one blocked sooner rather than later

I also hope Deuce Robinson is ok.

It's' great to be a Mountaineer!

we were fortunate in the first quater, they could have easily been up 21. I thought that Price was the best receiver in the SC, I was wrong, its Mallett, that kid can't be covered by only one guy. Starting to see a pattern, we are everyones superbowl, they come out with alot of intensity, jump on us early, than hang on for dear life. There isn't a team in the SC, that has the athletes and speed that we do, but if we don't match the intensity of the other teams in the first quater, we stand a good chance of being upset again.

I think you are right about everyone pointing to/for us. I think they come up with somethings that we haven't seen on film and it takes time for us to adjust.

I finally joined the board after years of lurking since MMB FINALLY got with the times and changed from the god-awful format of yesteryear. I was hoping this would signal a change in posting culture and the general mood of the board, however, come to find out the most popular threads are complaining about TOO MANY seats in the stadium (LOL) Satterfield's offensive playcalling (which, by the way, he adjusted. Elon was playing extremely aggressive on the edges, hence the domination of the sweeps. Satt exposed this by using bubble screens and short routes which turned into huge gains later in the game. But, if you don't want to think of it that way, that's fine) and something called "Wine and Cheese," a phenomenon at KBS which I explained in another attendance thread.

We are fine, we are winning, enjoy it, be loud (without complaining that the person around you isn't,) be proud, go Apps...
