Re: Ga Southern Parking
Car wash parking lot directly across from the stadium. Provides tailgating area and very, very close proximity to the stadium.
If serving is beneath you, then leading is beyond you.

Park in front of a bar in Boone or Charlotte or wherever you happen to be and watch the game on TV. It'll be much more enjoyable for you. I'll never go to Gnatsboro again.AUHornet wrote:1st time in Statesboro for me - any suggestions on parking? Thanks!

Re: Ga Southern Parking
You should go, but its like any large, dank city. There are things to watch out for.
1- Never be alone
2- Park where other APP people park
3- College students and young children will curse at you, so try to ignore them
4- Be careful where you eat
5- Pray your seats are not near the student section
6- DO NOT bring your young children unless they understand really stupid behavior and language
7- GOOD LUCK, I thank you for representing APP STATE

Try not to park next to their tractors.........they tend to ding the doors on my car.

Re: Ga Southern Parking
We tailgated at some apartment complex right across the street (near the car wash) two years ago. It was just four of us (me, a buddy of mine, ASUMike and his gal). We managed to make it from our spot, across and into the GaSo alum lot to meet some AGS Eagle fans, into the stadium and out without major incident. The alums we met were as nice as they could be and offered a great low country boil spread.
I would just avoid student areas and don't get too mouthy and they should leave you alone. No promises though.
And bring a gas mask. The town really does smell bad, especially as you drive in from Savannah.

Re: Ga Southern Parking
Thanks for the feedback! I have to go to support my son so no bailing out now and I'm in the App section so hopefully there is safety in numbers!! And I've been on the field and in the stands for Auburn-Bama games so I've got a feel for what the hostility will be like - I'm ok with that!
I will make sure to bring some nose plugs though - that's good advice!

Hey, Gonzo, I assume it's our group you were talking about. We'd be happy to see you again if you're coming down. Not doing low country this week, just burgers and brats, but you're welcome. You, too, AUHornet. Unfortunately the lots right at the stadium are for athletic foundation donors only, but there are several lots around campus that have shuttle service to the stadium. If you have additional questions, including how to find our tailgate if you'd like to join us, email me at famousirishman@aol.com.

That's us! Thanks again for 2012. We had a great time. I can't make it down this year, unfortunately.Loyaleagle wrote:Hey, Gonzo, I assume it's our group you were talking about. Re: Ga Southern Parking
GS isn't that bad. I've heard the stories from old days but KBS was just as bad for visitors. Both have come a long way.
Just avoid the students, don't go to find trouble and don't react to the drunks and you should be fine.
Also, here's info from GS

Shuttle starts 2.5 hours before kickoff, so 5:00 pm.
The parking lot with the brown and red use to be free first-come parking. It's walkable to the stadium. The nearest teal lot isn't that bad of a walk for those who can walk 10-15 minutes.

In front of the tv is the best place when it comes to gnatsboro. Worst students in the history of higher education. Go Apps!
