Re: Sunday Morning QB on a Friday ---
Not many people called for Lamb to start because he gives us a better chance to win now. Most of us called for him to start because by starting him now we'll probably win more games in the future.AppSt94 wrote:I think Lamb will get better with playing time. However, some called for the change because Lamb gives us the best chance to win now. Well, he is 0-2, has the same number of interceptions as KB has had while starting (in fewer games), and we have been in the red zone on 5 different occasions without points with him. So I am not bringing this up as an indictment of Lamb and his potential because I like him, I just want to know how the "best chance to win now" crowd feels about the change.AppState2014 wrote:Calling for the QB one is funny because this year folks were calling for it and it happened. We all knew it was a matter of time before Lamb won the job. I think Lamb starting is going to prove to be the best thing for us come 2015 and 2016.AppSt94 wrote:Don't forget always calling for a QB change.NewApp wrote:Yep. Fair enough but if playing him now won't likely translate to wins now and the we understand this then why the sky is falling mentality by most?diehardapp18 wrote: Not many people called for Lamb to start because he gives us a better chance to win now. I think our past has spoiled us. I know it has me. I guessed we would win 6 games at the most this year and have been preaching that to other App State fans all summer. I know 5-6 is probably what we will win, but I want more. I want a winning record and know we should have beaten So Miss. I have to keep telling myself, we are young, we are playing a lot harder teams now and we have a young head coach who will make mistakes, but will learn with those mistakes.AppSt94 wrote:Fair enough but if playing him now won't likely translate to wins now and the we understand this then why the sky is falling mentality by most?diehardapp18 wrote: Not many people called for Lamb to start because he gives us a better chance to win now. With that above being said, the playing time that Lamb is getting now, will pay off the next 3 years. You have to crawl before walking and walking before running.

I am not as sure folks believe the sky is falling just that I think some people have one degree or another of panic--- kind of like when the stock market starts on a downward slide... You don't know whether to buckle down or sell. It's the fear of the unknown. I hope we will all just buckle down. Saturday's game against South Alabama will most likely give us an indicator as to where we are in this process. I truly believe most folks on here's greatest fear is of all the momentum built up from mid 2000's will disappear. Deep down, I know I have that fear. I have to stay patient and let the process play out.

I believe you hit the nail on the head with that post. That was what I was pretty much trying to say above with my post.YesAppCan wrote:I am not as sure folks believe the sky is falling just that I think some people have one degree or another of panic--- kind of like when the stock market starts on a downward slide... I prefer how you phrased it as degrees of panic to my own sky is falling. You are probably right about folks being concerned about losing momentum. I would say that we have been on a mild decline since 2007 that has rapidly gained momentum over the last few years. The problem was that the decline was masked by tolerable records on the field. I agree that we need to be patient and see how the process plays out. We are in a unique situation where records don't really mean anything until next year but that is generally, and understandably thus, how success is measured.YesAppCan wrote:I am not as sure folks believe the sky is falling just that I think some people have one degree or another of panic--- kind of like when the stock market starts on a downward slide... Re: Sunday Morning QB on a Friday ---
On the downside of the Georgia Southern and Southern Mississippi Game is the inability to get the ball in the darn end zone. We need a will not be denied back like Kevin Richardson or just a big bruiser who can run over people on 3 and 1 and on goal line. That is the biggest problem I see! Need that desire!
On the upside, we are finally starting to look like a dangerous offense. We spent the last two years playing a dink and dunk offense. With Lamb we are starting to finally throw the ball down field. We have a vertical game again. I can start to see echos of 2005 - 2007. I can see this team being very good with improvement. Just got to keep moving forward. And remember, they are so young!
I am really curious about how we will play against USA at HOME. To me this is the key game of the season. Win and we can look to a good season. Lose and everything can fall apart.

Re: Sunday Morning QB on a Friday ---
It's going to take us 3-4 more years before we can be competitive at this level with every team on our schedule...BUT we will get there. I've endured some lean years in the past, that made the successful years that much more enjoyable! I never thought we always had superior talent but our teams were well coached and played hard (minus the Working tenure).
This team plays hard and I will be back in my Seats in 203 this Saturday...just like every Saturday since 1979!!!

I think it will probably be longer than that before we're competitive with EVERY team on the schedule (if we're counting UT, UGa, etc.). But I don't think it should take 3-4 years to be competitive with the rest.JMappfan5 wrote:It's going to take us 3-4 more years before we can be competitive at this level with every team on our schedule...BUT we will get there. Agreed, we should be competitive with the majority of "the rest" by next season.EastHallApp wrote:I think it will probably be longer than that before we're competitive with EVERY team on the schedule (if we're counting UT, UGa, etc.).
